Heard that there will be a complete review on the football department at years end which i think most of us predicted ... will be in the Age C Wilson article that all but Dennis (Signed till 2008) will be under review ... just another piece in the puzzle for change IMO..

So who will be gone
Libba - Gone
Trout - I know he is DP right hand man but maybe under pressure
Mitchell - Done good things in Bullants - Unknown

So maybe we will be targeting someone else make a few changes and all looks good for 2006

This is why i think the Blues have to Bottom out... Yes Draft picks are a benefit but this whole club needs to under go under the microscope and complete review from Players / Assistant Coaches / Football department.

If we bottom out then i am sure nothing will be missed. If we win a few more token wins ... or as some people think win 3 or 4 of the last 4 games ... it may cover some of the big problems in the club.. Finish bottom and it will mean that everything will be under scrutiny ..... So with that senario ... The football department will be over hauled .. the Player list will be shken up and if we have the best picks in the draft / Trades / ect we will be the best position to properly fix up the changes on the list..

Libba to be replaced by a full time Wayne Carey.

Just look at what he has done for Fish since he has comeback.
Brad's goal kicking has improved out of sight.

I think Collo wants to insert more ex Carlton players into the coaching staff and build on just what Carlton football club is.

Would like that too, but Wayne seems to be doing very well on FoxFooty and other media commitments so might be hard to be a full-time assistant..

Win 2 more games for the season and the whole coaching staff can be replaced IMO, Pagan included.

Not sure I like that, I think we were too insular for too long, and that the lack of new ideas was one of the reasons we got into this mess in the first place...

Seems Caroline has a source at Board level...

The style of the article suggests she is reading the Minutes of a Meeting.

Interesting to see that Kouta may be stripped of the captaincy...I don't mind the idea as I want Carlton to have a fresh start...No suprises with Stevo being the favourite...

The most interesting thing in that article to me is:
Quote:
A U2 rock concert could be headed to Optus Oval to coincide with the Commonwealth Games in a potential club financial fillip;

What a horrible venue. Have promoters not learnt anything from the Waverley experiment of 1998?

I trust, or at least hope, this isn't the first Kouta has heard of these plans though. I have no problem with the theory, indeed I think it has a lot of merit, I just hope that in an instance such as this Kouta was granted the respect he deserves. :oops:

While Carlton has stopped short of forcing each member of its football staff to re-apply for positions as Collingwood has done, the feeling is that Pagan's support team requires more versatility and a stronger voice to challenge the dominant senior coach.

I find this snippet a bit telling. Will be interesting viewing to see how this transpires and how Denis handles the requested change/s.

This is one article we need to lock away in a vault somewhere as I'm sure it will be referred to again in the future.

i have to admit - i hated the concept of him coming to our club.

but to listen to him on fox footy - he knows the game, i mean really knows the game, unlike some of the prats that like to talk up how much they think they know about the game a.k.a. Brereton.

Carey would be an awesome Assitant Coach

One from left field

wouldnt mind getting Wayne Schwass done the club as well, he knows what he is talking about and could be a good midfield coach. Schwass or M.Voss would be great for that.

Pagan = Master Coach
Mitchell = Assitant Coach
Madden = Ruck Coach
Carey = Forward Coach
Schwass = Midfield Coach
Dean = Defensive Coach
Campese = Tackling Coach :wink:

I think the odds of Schwass working with Pagan are worse than England's chances of winning The Ashes. ;)
