Where is my 5 million dollars over 5 years?? Nahhhhh its Ang Christou who went to training with his Collingwood jumper on. PS Kouta is the last Carlton player to have come through the under 19s. Too bad there is no such thing as under 19s anymore... Oh well!!!.. guess we have to look to early draft picks. ![]() |

I was having a beer with a collingwood mate the other night, and he was hoping like hell we'd beat them. I'm almost enjoying this weird upside-down world we now live in. I wonder if the AFL realises it has subverted Victorian culture so effectively? |

Look culture is a weird thing. For example in the NRL players announce theyre leaving their club half way through the year and noone blinks. I wish we had those rules and Campo said he was going to the Perth Rams ... i would be on around 1000 posts . |

Danny, you don't seriously think the AFL is that good, do you? And anyway, you're subversive. All good poets are. Shouldn't you find this vastly amusing? |

Yes! How nice it would be to know we deprived them of (likely) picks 3 and 6. And yes, if we win 2 more we are going to be the biggest laughing stock ever. "Who are the blooz gonna to blame 4 taking there draft picks this year? Thay took them off themselfs! they will be at the bottom for years now. Hahahahahaa. loosers." x 5000 |

subversive only about things that don't matter - we're talking football!!!!! Some days I think its hilarious, other days I think its deliberate - truth is probably between the two but for all their madness I've never thought of the AFL as stupid, not when it coming to raking in the dollars anyway. |

I'm almost enjoying this weird upside-down world we now live in. I wonder if the AFL realises it has subverted Victorian culture so effectively? Beautifully put as always John - the AFL hierarchy has managed to bleed all tribalism, culture and rivalry out of the game. Jolly good show lads. |

Reading the sport section in the MX on Wednesday, one of the Spanish players in the international cup, or whatever it's called, that's happening at the moment, took Aussie Rules up because of its gladiatorial nature. Ironically, this is one aspect of the game that the AFL hierarchy seems hell bent on eliminating. |

I know that they may be trying to eliminate it in the AFL but they will NEVER stop brawaling and melees in footy all together. From the SANFL (or the VFL or WAFL or whatever) down there will always be fights and punch ups. There are just to many physchos playing footy out there for it not to happen. Anyone who plays footy on this site at that level (which will probably be everyone) I guarntee you that they will have been invloved in a fight. The smaller leagues dont have the means to stop them. This is good and bad, coz a lot of the physocs take it off the field but it makes for some damn fine viewing ![]() |
