By the way I want to say that I hope Wiggo survives the cull at the end of the year. I know he has his doubters but I love a bloke who doesn't take his eyes off the ball. I think even his detractors would say he gives his all and doesn't take a backward step. Not the most skilful player we have but he won't disgrace the jumper through not giving his all and I think is starting to gte better ans tronger each year. Hopefully that mark on the weekend will give him more time on the list. |

I think Wiggo has done what he should have done this year and that is show Denis something as to why Denis should keep him on the list. Wiggo never stops trying and gives it his all. Imagine if it was Houlihan who went up for that mark on Sunday?!?! I think the damage would have been far worse due to the possibility of Houlihan pulling out at the last minute. |

Has anyone else noticed that we seem to pick a new hack every week, discuss how good he was on the weekend and all agree that he'll survive the cull at the end of the year? Last week it was Digby Morrell and now I doubt you'll find anyone who thinks keeping him is a good idea after he cost us the game on the weekend. Wiggin was very brave, very hard at it, didn't make many mistakes on the weekend and if he played like that every week we should definitely keep him. Unfortunately in the past he's made far too many stupid mistakes and too many single figure games that we can't just forget because he just managed to have his 1 good game in 10. |

Tend to agree with you Andain. When a guy whose been in the system for 4-5 years & yet continues to turn the ball over by foot, I reckon it's time to say goodbye. DP may give him another year, but if he does, I reckon it's more of a reflection of the need to delist half a dozen others before Wiggo. Love his attitude & work ethic but I reckon his time might be up. |

Wiggo should be there next year. He made some nice positional moves and took some nice marks in the first quarter. This was before his mark against Pickett in the second. Skills can be improved and I am sure that Wiggo is working on them. You can not manufacture the desire that he has on the ball. I get critical on Teague on occasions too, but I love his desire for the ball. I wouldn't get rid of Teague and I wouldn't get rid of Wiggo. |

By the way anyone who says it was Digby's fault that we lost the game did not really see the game. Did you also see Campo turn it over too? Did you see us consistently lose it out of the centre in the last quarter? Did you see Fev's limited return yet again? Of couse not, your eyes were on Dibgy and he cost us the match. Well watched... ![]() |

Simon took a couple of good grabs in the second quarter, then took a very, very brave grab, getting smashed by Byron Pickett in the process. Eyes only for the ball, which is one of Simon's strengths. I think he did well at times on Saturday, and as I've said before, I admire his endeavour. Will he be retained?......I'm still of the opinion that he won't, but admittedly he did his chances of staying no harm on Saturday. We probably won't know until early October.................I await the amber ale! |

wiggo took 8-10 similar contested marks in the VFL last week in the game agasnit the cats ressies. most of them over nathan abblet, who was significantly bigger. he could of have 5 or 6 goals for the day but ended with 3. best gmae i've seen him play een though it was VFL. |

Wiggins has been gutsy from the time he entered the club but you cant carry a guy who turns the ball over so easily.Maybe a permanent tagging role with a runner or against another tagger like Cornes so that wiggins can dish out his medicine. |

I think you'll find many of us here have defended Wiggins all season and are hardly jumping on because he had a good weekend. Our stance will be the same next week regardless of how he plays against the Pies. One thing I must say for many of our supporters on this site, PJ, molsey, Blue World etc.. is that we've been very supportive of some of the younger players all season, week in, week out and its great to see guys like Simmo, Carazzo repay that faith. I only hope Wiggins, Davies, Livo can do the same. |

Wiggins has been a ongoing joke on this forum, and whenever anyone said anything positive about him it was always a joke or treated as such. "Wiggins is a superstar" "Wiggins is the hero of the masses" and other similar statements have abounded for quiet a while now. |

Like eveyone I admire Wiggins courage, but if this club is going forward we should be getting close to the point where courage alone is not enough to hold a spot. I'd delist others ahead of him ... but how deep is Denis going to cut? |

I'd delist others ahead of him ... but how deep is Denis going to cut? Having rewatched the match I will now say two things: 1) Simmo's second efforts and 1 percenters were all class on Sunday. Will dominate with another 5 kg and a bit more support around him. Even kicked on his right foot once ![]() 2) Given that his career was effectively on the line Wiggins had an absolute shocker. He didn't hit a target by foot all game, and barely hit a target by hand. And we're not talking 50 passes to leading players here, we're talking about 15m sideways chips. Skills wise he is a poster boy for everthing we don't want in our team. The contrast between him and Simmo, Bentick and Carrots was crystal clear. I reckon he's gone now. |

Wiggo did kick a goal from 30m-35m out didn't he? That had to be one kick that was straight. ![]() |
