I wonder who this weeks Villian of the Week is: "Villain of the week: DIGBY MORRELL (Carlton) - The former Kangaroos' key position player and his team paid a heavy price for one dreadful skill error on Sunday, which came at a crucial stage of the MCG clash against Port. With scores level late in the third term and the Blues desperately trying for the win which would have taken them off the bottom of the ladder, Morrell somehow managed to kick the ball into the man on the mark after he had marked in defence about 40 metres from goal. There seemed to be no danger but his slewed kick immediately resulted in a turnover and a goal to Domenic Cassisi, which regained the lead for Port as they went on to win by 14 points. Morrell was immediately summoned to the bench by coach Denis Pagan and stayed there throughout the final quarter as Port took control of the game after the momentum shifted following his costly third quarter mistake." And here's the latest on the fines for our match. "Port Adelaide veteran Darryl Wakelin and enigmatic Blue Brendan Fevola were each fined $1800 for wrestling each other during the first quarter - their second such offence - while Power defender Brett Montgomery and Blue Matthew Lappin will each be $900 lighter in the pocket after being charged for wrestling each other. It is their first offence." |
