Post subject:  Why are we injury free ?

Any theories on why we have no injuries ('reported') at this time of year?

Are we lucky?
Got all of them earlier in the year?
Players not going in hard enough?

I just thought it unusual that we are the only club with no reported injuies. http://www.injuryupdate.com.au/injuries.php?sport=AFL

Should mean we are playing our best side on the Park..........normally means that we should be damm competative..........which I suppose we have been the last couple of weeks.

Your thoughts?

This obviuosly is a boring post ......

no talk of:
Tanking
Marc Murphy
Tyrant's love life
Whitnal
Down Hill sking
PP
name calling
gauging one's intelligence
poetry

Perhaps all those who want to talk footy have left the building ala DB

I am an avid reader buy seldom post. Perhaps I need to stir the pot more and talk less about the footy to get some attaention.

Perhaps not, I might hang up my boots for a while as well and see it TC is here after my 'Holiday'. TBV wasn't when I took the last one.

I think I will just leave it to Denis to give me the vision of where we are headed, he is making more sense than most on here.

Well what do you want people to say? Nobody has any real answer to why we've been lucky with injuries :?

I want some intelligent observations , I suspect it is not all just luck. I would like a respose without any attitude..........it's leading TC down a familar and dangerous path. ''

We got our injuries at the worst time of the year. We did not have our CHB, FB and Ruckman for much of the first 2/3rds of the season.

Overall we probably have not had many games lost due to injury compared to other teams.

However, our injuries have been to important players for our structure at least. When you are a club that maybe at the start of the year thought they might have a chance to sneak into the eight they can hit pretty hard.

So lucky for overall injuries this year, but unlucky with who has been injured.

Now, that wasn't so hard, thanks Jarusa .

I agree with your sentiments, it was about momentum, things could have been quite different this year if we didn't lose Tbird so early.

Yep Helmut, its amazing no injuries at round 20!
So many out of contract, :? no only serious.
As Grant Thomas says its Traininig services.
Mixture of luck and not tanking is the main reason for mine.
A cynical person might say our reluctance to drop senior players.....also helps.

the fact that carlton has had an almost non-existant injury list all season and is still on the bottom of the ladder, is further evidence (not that we needed anymore) that carlton has the worst list in the league and needs to finish last with priority picks and pre-season picks more than any other team. The priority pick was invented for teams this bad.

No injuries? I have not seen Trent Sporn (injured back) on the training track for the last 3 weeks. Usually injured blokes come out and do some stationary skills. Does anyone know what has happened to him?
If he does not play for the rest of the season you would think it would have been the opportune time to promote a rookie.

Peterdeano, this is obviously a tanking thread in disguise... ;-)

I think credit where it's due = player management. We have had more of our fair share during the start/middle of the year to our prime movers though. If only we could take advantage of this run and been playing finals. :(

yep, i'd have thought that credit should go to the coaching staff and the physio team in relation to player management. i'm sure we have our fair share of niggles - look at fev, Kouta, Stevens, and I reckon Scotland has only been fully fit for the last few weeks.

It might also be that everyone is playing for thier futures, and they want to be out there - no taking time out for soft injuries, or it might be as someone said that they are avoiding getting into dangerous positions which might cause injuries.

Either way, i agree, bloody amazing.

I was hoping not but the tanking issue is the "issue of the season" so it's bound to end up in every thread until post draft.

I am one of those who's heart strings are being pulled but I am a head over heart kind of supporter.

Could it be that with a younger list you don't get as many soft tissue injuries?
