Synbad.. synbad ... synbad......

can't you see this is the most intelligent form of tanking ever? since 2002, the club have known about Joel Selwood......

isn't it obvious? We win last night and guess what happens?

SPONSORS: Dan Murphy will love this. How else will we get through another season of crap.... DAN MURPHY PRODUCTS!!

PLAYERS: welcome aboard Joel Selwood. And Bryce Gibbs while we're at it.

FUTURE: Rosey

COMPETITION: Collingwood get 2 mediocre picks in an average draft and miss out next year....

GO BLUES.. WHO HOO!!! NO ONE TANKS LIKE US!

That is exactly the point it was a win against an undermanned team who either pulled out their best players or were happy for them not to play.Objectively with the team they had they were never going to win and they didnt want to win- Blues have little or no injuries
One team was going for the win the other was indifferent
Reminded of game against Geelong last year where about 8 of their best players didnt play not really a true indication of where we are at.
However it is still good to get games into walker waite et al and see them developing and taking over from older guys
Moreover it looks like dennis really isnt interested in milking the system and so if you support him then you have to support such an approach

We have a winning culture thinggy happening now....

We woint get Selwood or Gibbs ... we will win 10 games for next year and win our way clear and get pick 10..

Were not that smart....!!!

I used to think we were.... ill go ballistic if we win next week though.

If people are sick of me and find me tedious and boorish now .. just wait and see what im like if we dont get a pp....

see this is why I was going for a draw

that way:
we still stay on the bottom -(percentage) get the picks we NEED
collingwood miss out on a PP

but think about it,collingwood will probably just use their pick to get another cloke or shaw brother... or trade it for some overhyped overpaid midfielder....

hang on I've got it, we'll trade campo for their PP

its alright everybody, I've solved our dilemna :)

Synbad... I advice you spend a lot of time on public transport this week, pick up the flu, then hang around the rooms during training to ensure a couple of wins for us

Synbad, in truth, (and I ask this genuinely.... I don't disagree with you, BTW.. but I'm asking without any rhetorical device).. do you reckon having picks 2 and 5 will be much worse off than picks 1 and 3/1 and 4, given the players in the draft?

I think picks 1 and 3 are better than picks 2 and 5 and definitely better than pick 5 alone.

Marc Murphy at this point of time is easily the best footballer i have seen in that age group and the best leader of any footballer available.

Im not even worried about that now... im worried that we dont keep our two picks intact.

Some people would want to win the game against Essendon*... but that would be commiting suicide as far as what this club will be capable of doing over the next 10 years.

Blink and it will be 20 years since 1995... but we will still want to win games we shouldnt.

Footy has changed and so has supporting...

Its like chess - you sacrifice a few pawns to ensure you capture the king

I just hope that these people opposing tanking dont whinge when we go another 10 years making up the numbers.

tough times call for tough tactics

Sure it feels nice to beat collingwood, but not as nice as iut does seeing carlton playing finals football.

Fair points. The earlier picks take out some element of doubt.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind the extra picks

But I reckon, Synbad, if we win the games and miss out... we should agree to catch up for a beer and look forward to 2006.

We might have a winning culture... but we also have a drinking culture

see, maybe, at the end of the day Surreyblue has a point... at least Elliott and Brittain knew how to @#$%&! up a team and get them the good picks... (and then, sadly, lose them)

We've possibly avoided the spoon and that's better than any kid who's 1-3 years away from dominating play.

If we can beat the Kangaroo's who are as committed as any side in the league, why is that a negative? The side and kids confidence will improve if they can knock off a top 8 team and gain more confidence for next year.

Cos North will NEVER wijn a premiership....so whats so good about that???

as for your ridiculous signature.
Ben Cousins and Luke Power/ Arkemanis would all be good enough at their height to captain our club ..

So that just sums up how ridiculous you think.

I reckon alot of people want us to model ourselves on Geelong...

Theyre going beautifully.

Even Caroline Wilson thinks having picks 1 and 3 is a huge advantage...

......and her best work is done on her knees...

Being of the low iq ...and therefore a supporter of the Geelong model which is based more on hard work, clever recruiting and a good supply of Abletts how do you think Denis would have gone with the present Geelong list...I would have thought a proven coach who has taken a similar list in North to the top could have done similar..ok no Carey but I see a lot of other similar things about Geelong that Dennis had to work with at North. Also Collingwoods last flag list had very few stars but were well coached...can a excellent coach get results from good lists that contain less star players?

The Geelong model is also the West Coast model -Judd...West Coast seem to be travelling ok..

What's with trolling your team's supporters? :?:
Do you also have a problem with Denis Pagan's line of thinking? 8) I guess you think Collo should show him the door if he doesn't agree with Synbad.Draft picks are no guarantee of success as Jarusa's table shows.
Image
If they can beat North at near full strength it'll be a good result! And anyone who cries because they missed drafting a kid who might end up a dud shouldn't be a Blues supporter.
