I cant be the only person who has been impressed with him in the last few weeks. Is turning into that hardnut player that we need. Needs to take a few angry pills and then we really have a player on our hands.

He is not afraid to win the hardball and his disposal is way better than most of our in and under players (not that we have many ). Seems to get better and more confident everytime he gets the ball.

If he is eligable, he must get this weeks NRS and I know that will make a few of you happy :)

Can't think who, Locke.... :D

AB is coming along very nicely, as long as Denis persists with him he should keep on improving.

And hsi mum and dad are lovely people too! 8) :D

Having been a bentick fan from his very first game at carlton which was a practice game for the bullants agst geelong - i have been very impressed - in that game he actually kicked a number of goals - something i think we will start to see more of - his disposal will get much better and penetrating imo.

He has also always been a very good tackler who drives them to the ground.

Its great to see him translate the ball winning abilities to afl level.

I am a bit concerned that burgoyne and francou got a lot of touches on him - but he will learn from that. Was he on burgoyne in the first - i thought it might have been chambers?

AB had burgoyne p in Q1, taken off him at start of Q2 while AB took a 10 minute break. Chambers took burgoyne p at the start of the second and did better as a tagger but didnt get the ball himself.

Roughead will deservedly get it but Bentick will hopefully put in another good performance this week, but not too good!

Had lunch and then played kick to kick with AB and Brock Mclean last year in 3rd term holidays. Was really impressed with AB's attitude to footy, seemed really dedicated and had set up his own strict and intense fitness program for the off-season. For mine, that shows real dedication. He also said he doesen't go out at night ever because he always wants to be fresh for training, and again that just shows he really is dedicated to getting the best out of himself. As Sticks said, captaincy material in 5-6 years.

I've been a bit skeptical about Bentick since Mrs Caz announced how crap he is. I told her "nah, he'll come good", but she wouldn't believe me. She then went on to imply Jarrad Schofield would be a better player for us.

FOR SHAME!

Have been impressed with AB since his first game last year. Was wondering why DP wasn't playing him much this year but looks like the boss knows what he's doing.

Love the way he can break a tackle in the middle and get rid of the ball ... he has at times, dare i say it, reminded me of the great man himself (GW).

Have been a critic of his, but will admit the last two weeks he's been good.

I still have queries over his pace - his opponents have exposed him in this area, and could still be under scruntiny at years' end.

The MC will have to decide whether his positives outweigh the negatives.

IMHO - He's skating on thin ice!!!

Big rap for him since I first saw him against dockers last year because he reads the play well and is tough

Sometimes I really wonder about DP,not AB.Why wouldn't you tag Burgoyne from the start.Bentick would be too slow for him.Its a mystery given the formPB has been in.

Stupid move putting him on PB. Not an good match up and Peter Burgoyne up forward with AB would have been a huge mismatch. Pagan has really lost it when it comes to match day tactics.

For a 184cm hard at it midfielder with better than average skills whose just turned 20, surely you are kidding Wangers. Is our list that great that Bentick will be given the arse because he hasn't shown enough yet.

Did you see Burgoyne tear him apart in the 1st half, or were you just at another game? Did you see the game against the Cats where he was exposed by pace? or you weren't at that game, either???

He's not fast and that's a big negative. His skills are average. He can get the ball, and can be good in the packs, but that's as far as it goes. All I said is he's skating on thin ice - meaning he may stay (just) or go!!!

Yeah but the Burgoyne matchup was stupid...Burgoyne will show better players than Bentick up for pace, it was a stupid matchup. Burgoyne is more a flashy wingman type with pace and Bentick more someone who gets the ball out to players like Burgoyne, if you understand what I'm saying.

Walker would have been a better tagging option than Bentick.

At the end of the day, he's slow.

Give him Kane Cornes, even Kingsley to chase and he wouldn't catch them.

I don't mind him as a player, but if he were to be accountable this is where other clubs will exploit us. I'm not sure he'll make it, as the game is fast and I would see the minimum speed you would need if you were a ball magnet is at least a Sam Mitchell speed.

he's slow like carazzo can't kick. :garthp: (LOVE THE GARTHP)

give the kid time - he has lifted the midfield the last two weeks.

He has a good pedigree too - Captained the undefeated championship winning Calder Cannons in 2003 , Represented Vic Metro , Was in the All under 18 TAC team of the year.
