I’ve been dropping by every now and then over the last few weeks but posting little as the tanking/anti-tanking debate seems to have dominated everything and no argument between a bunch of fans is going to have any bearing on its outcome, on top of being beyond boring and rarely entertaining or pleasurable so why bother?

I was disappointed that we beat Collingwood on Saturday night because I want two picks in the top 5 and preferably 1 and 3 or 1 and 4 but instead we put ourselves in a position where we might find ourselves with number 5 alone. On top of that I think people underestimate how useful first position is when negotiating with other clubs in trade week and that if there’s any value in the pre-season draft then it’s probably only the first side in the order that’ll get it.

On the other hand I’m really pleased to see the development of some of our kids over the last few rounds and on Saturday night that development continued. A small part of me also likes the possibility that we might rise again without the “extraâ€

I've been there this whole time GWS, but be careful, it's easy to fall off.

Yeah I know that.

And to make it worse it's even more confusing when you fall off on one side of the wall into the yard with the big dogs and then the following week fall off on the other side with the big dogs poo poo... :?

Not a lot of joy there...

That's not a hand tommi...

I need to get a new hot water tank. And with currently 2 dogs (not big), there's lots of pooh in the back yard.

And I've been feeling a bit schizo.

The people who built my fence work for Dodgy Brothers inc, so there is no chance I'm sitting on it. :-D

Has Coutet got a new sibling or are you just baby-sitting?

Long term baby sitting, Juto is a female 2yo beagle. Her Korean mum had to return to Korea and may not be able to return for 3 years, unless a Visa appeal is successful. Since returning she has decided Juto will be better off remaining here where there is a yard, full time company and space.

Maybe...

But maybe not.

I don't think there's any need for anyone to "confess" to anything. It's a difficult issue. Landing on one side of the fence doesn't make you any wiser or smarter than those who land opposite from where I'm sitting.

I'll be rapt if we get the picks and disappointed if we don't but the prospect of Collingwood tanking in order to get them and us missing out only for them to lose yet another grand final to us six or seven years from now is a tantalising prospect.

And GiNB, I don't feel any "moral" need to win or not win these games.

I want the picks so I'd prefer we didn't win them but I don't believe it's necessarily such a good idea to try to manufacture that situation (for practical reasons rather than "moral" ones").

My comments were about me really, I would like the PPs but just don't feel comfortable about how we have to get them... thus the Picket Fence Sitting
