Can someone please confirm, deny or assist.
Do both of these blokes have contracts for 2006?
I thought Prenda signed for 3 years at end of 2003, and Bannister for 2 years after last season's great B&F performance.

This post-season, we get released from payments to McKernan, Beaumont & Kenna (totalling nearly $250K-ish).

Is this going to be replaced by ballpark $160K for the aforementioned 2?

Given we will also delist David Clarke, are we losing 3 legs of our crack 4 x 400 metre relay team?

Any thoughts?

I dont think a contract can save Bannister. Prederghastly might survive the cull cause he is one of Pagans love chlidren. As for our 4x400m team, Murphy can run the whole race for us :-D

prenda might stay as he can also play ruck

the others are gone because they are not playing seniors so mayaswell get some youngsters

Prendergast cannot play ruck. Nothing more than a utility which is what will cost him his position on the list IMO.

I think you can also add a sizeable chunk of cash freed up by Lance & Campo's contracts coming to an end, whether or not they re-sign.

I think they're both gone myself.
I am just not sure if there are contract issues involved.
If there's not, it makes the cut that much easier.

Sporn & Wiggins are also both contracted, and that may save both of them, but delisting first round draft picks whether they are 22 or 29 would always be hard, it says that the 'Carlton system' has failed them.

That ain't true barrel. If you look at other first round picks that year, they're not exactly setting the world on fire.

1. Riewoldt - tick
2. Koschitzke - tick
3. Didak - half-tick
4. Livingston - hmm...definite question mark
5. MacDougall - definite question mark
6. Smith - serious question mark
7. Angwin - head case - gawn

There aren't really many good players in the 2000 draft - Coughlan at 25 is an exception and obviously the top 2.

It worries me that we may have a similar situation this year...

Hence why we have to get the #1 Pick.

But let's leave that one alone shall we.

I think both Prenda and Bannister might be in a bit trouble.

Also forgot to mention barrel, that it doesn't matter if they have a contract. You just pay it out, they'd hardly be on top dollar.

Agreed.
But monies to them, is not monies to James Bartel, Shannon Grant, Trent Hntschel, Mitchell Hahn, or whoever else may or may not be being courted by the Blues.

And yes, Whitnall & Campo will be on less than this year, but plenty of current players have renegotiated bigger contracts too.

I've just been doing a few little mathematics exercises, and just working out how our pre-season may progress.

Surely Prendergast has had his bite and a few more on top of that? I'm sick of closing my eyes when he goes near the ball.

I would say they're both GAWN but I said the same about Livo, and some way, some how he managed to get another year.

If pretendergast is delisted would that be the first time a member of a leadership group is dropped not being the result of a disciplinary issue or otherwise traded?

Bit of a pity about Bannister. Had a terrific year last year. And he certainly has the size, athleticism and sufficient skill level to make it at senior level.

Bannister will be at the blues next year...at least that is what Pagan has told him.....watch the fringe players who are in the seniors a bit more closely..

Prenda had a good year last year but has dropped away this year (he and a few mates I guess). To an extent his place in the team has been usurped by Chris Bryan.

With regard to Bannister - he hasn't been able to crack a spot with the worst-performing Carlton team of all time. Not a good equation IMO.
