Greetings Earthlings, This is a bit of a cut and paste job from other regions of cyber-space, but what the heck lets do it anyway. The next two-weeks have been designated as tank-free-talk weeks on Majerczak-Verbeek-5. Things just got out of hand. Anyone caught talking about the t-word get sent to the prison planet McGuane-McKenna-3. The right honourable Mr tommi, how do you deal with this situation on your planet? To the swapsies: Since the draft has begun Carlton has had by far the better of the player swapsies between the two teams (games data valid to the end of 2004). Carlton to Essendon* Paul McMaster, 1992 Pre-Season Draft, Pick 23, 0 games Matthew Allan, 2003, Trade, 20 games Justin Murphy, 2003, Trade, 23 games Up until last year, Carlton had a proud record of giving 0 games of experience to Essendon* since the beginning of the draft. Essendon* to Carlton Glenn Hawker, 1988, Trade, 27 Games Bevan Smillie, 1991, Nat Draft, Pick 79, 0 games Glenn Manton, 1995, Pre-Season Draft, Pick 27, 157 games Jordan Bannister, 2003, Nat Draft, Pick 69, 17 games Cory McGrath, 2003, Trade, 12 games The big pickup was Glenn Manton, who served manfully to make the most of his determination and talent. Of course pre-draft one of the big swapsies was Justin Madden, a most valuable contributor for many years. There must have been others that were significant pre-draft, do any of TC members with more light years under the clock remember other Carlton Essendon* Swapsies? |

Whilst Manton blotted his copy book later in his career - I was always pleased that after Sheedy got rid of Manton he then went and recruited a very similar recycled player in Tim Darcy from Geelong, which in hindsight was a very poor decision on Sheedy's part. |

Pretty sure Danny Morgan was on the Blues list at one stage. |

Sure was 1992 if I'm not mistaken. Jordan Doering came from the Essendon* reserves I reckon |

Brian Walsh,a solid forward pocket rover ...64 games with us for 112 goals and then to Essendon* for 51 games and 100 goals..Played in the losing 1973 GF side.. Glen Hawker,200 games for them ,1978-1988,and 27 for us 1989 to 1991.. As Jack Dyer would say...."An outer suburban footballer' |

Michael Davis was on our rookie list and Essendon*'s list. Yep.. Doering was at Essendon*... and Danny Morgan was on both, I reckon. |
