Fev won't play this week ... Pagan has told him to rest his injury.

Thought we were supposed to be tanking :P

Apparently it's the first time he's admited that he's sore, so Denis told him not to play.

Perhaps 8 weeks ago so we could have given Setanta more games and then we wouldn't have had all this talk about tanking!

Fevola should have LTI'd weeks earlier I think this is a case of poor plyer management the coaching staff should have seen this injury was hampering him. Oh well could have meant a young irish rookie was gaining some experience in the ones and showing his potential against the big boys.

Question: Do players get paid their full match payment if they do not play because of injury?

If the answer is no then is Fev playing whilst injured solely to get the dough?

He's probably just like every other footballer and would still insist on playing even if he had limbs missing.

If Brendan really has been badly injured over the last few weeks [and I don't doubt that he hasn't] then he has shown himself to be a strong contributor under duress.

Admittedly his goals return hasn't been as good as in the early part of the season but to be playing with a debilitating injury AND still contributing over a goal a game AND getting a good return at fullback is promising

Optimistic [though not every well thought out] post ends

I don't think his injuries really had an effect on his performance, I've seen him play this shit even when he's injury-free.

Fevs injury semi crippled him.. what are you talking about????
He couldnt kick longer than 40 meters.. and was always looking to pass it off...
Fev was playing on sheer guts alone.

Why was he playing at all? He has made next to no contribution to the team's performances for the last half of the year. In fact we have been playing around him.

The problem occurred when he strained his groin at that game at TD. I can't remember which one it was. It could have been Geelong in Round 8 or Sydney in Round 11. I know I said it then and I will say it now. Groin injuries are hard to get rid of. The best way is rest. I know it because I have a similar problem.

Why didn't we rest him and blood one of our younger players? Unless of course we were tanking? Derr.

One of the most stupid decisions our club has made this past year.

Fev wants to play and the MC was happy to see him guts it out...theres abit of character building thats invaluable in that...
Not 100% sure he will not play this week.. has anyone heard it confirmed otherwise ??

It has been obvious to everyone except Pagan, the MC and the medical staff that he has been playing under duress. If has had a problem and hasn't mentioned it then he has shown his immaturity.

Perhaps he felt that he would let his team down by not playing. Still you've got to be honest with these things or they will catch up. Now his name has been muddied.

I like Digby. He hasn't got a huge amount of talent, but gives it his all and gets the most out of his game every time.
