Hello and welcome to the big final edition of Wolfister's Weekly one cent stats for season 2005. And what a season it's been! Well... for stats anyway. Wolfister Inc (the big blue office at the bottom end of town) started off the year on a high with our big 50th edition of the stats - but since then it's been down hill fast. We've considered trying to tank the stats so we can get better stats next year, but we don't know if that would work - we'll wait and see how we go this week, and then whatever we pick up in the draft, we'll use to great effect next year. But now, on with the show.

Carlton have played North 140 times for 93 wins (66.4%) at PM+2158. In recent years though North have had the wood on us, with Carlton winning 2 of the last 5 (PM-132) and 4 of the last 10 (PM-162). But it's when you look even further that you see just how much they've had it over us in recent history. Since we beat them in the 95 Preliminary final, they've won 11 of the next 15 (PM-358)... and of the 4 that we've won, 3 of them have been by 13 points or less. We've played the Roos at the Docklands 5 times, winning only 1 of these at PM-173.

The Blueboys have played Round 22 35 times for 25 wins (71.4%) at PM+431, making Round 22 our 4th most successful round on record. We've won 3 of our last 5 Round 22s (PM-35) and 6 of our last 10 (PM+89). We've played North twice in Round 22 - and both matches are quite famous... well one is famous, the other is infamous. We first met them in round 22 in the memorable final round of 1987 where Sticks kicked a goal after the siren to secure top spot on the ladder. The next time we met them in Round 22 was two years ago... and the less said about that match, the better.

August 28 (Wolfister's Dad's Birthday!) has been a reasonably successful one for the Blues, winning 9 of our 13 starts (69.2%) at PM+156 - making August 28 the 64th most successful playing day on record. In recent times our August 28 record hasn't been too bad... cos we haven't played on the day since 1993, where we beat Sydney by a point (after the siren to Rohan Welsh) at Princes Park. In fact we haven't lost on August 28 since 1954, when Geelong beat us by 41 points at Kardinia Park. We've never played North on August 28 - making us undefeated against the Roos on August 28 (what a good stat to finish the year on)!

Till next year, remember that 100% of stats can't wait till next year when we're allowed to hope that we win again!

Wolf Out.

The team may have had a poor year, but the one cent stats have been in great form all season.

Congrats on a great year of stats Wolfy.
