Sorry if this has been reported, but I haven't signed on for a few weeks.

I have known this for a little while, but I thought I will share it with you all since I have had time to get back on again.

Barnaby's contract has been re-instated and will be signing on for 2 years.
Hasn't signed but has agreed to sign. Source .... From the horses mouth.

Marc Murphy will not be going to Brisbane, and will be picked up by the Blues as the first pick. So all you Marc Murphy fans can start rejoicing.
Source ... From one of my employees who is friends with Marc.

PS. Campo's and Matty's contracts have not been put back on the table. I would assume that they will be traded if possible (which is no major news flash).

I aint seen Murphy play.... can someone give some details on this kids strenghts and weakness? 179 sounds a little small for a priority pick. He better be good.

Good to see French signed up... I hope we get a genuine ruckman before his two years are up.

Check out the TalkingRecruitment section bax... plenty of threads in there about MM. He's apparently the standout in this year's draft. Been likened to Ben Cousins.

Thanks for that Captn.

And Bax, when you consider this:

174 Shane Crawford
177 Jason Akermanis
179 Ben Cousins
179 Marc Murphy
181 Robert Harvey
183 Luke Ball

I reckon his height isn't an issue. We need pure midfielders badly, and MM certainly is one. Sure, he won't be able to pinch-hit as a marking target up forward, but if he's good enough in the middle he won't have to.

Luke Blackwell's only 179 cm and three of West Coast's star Braun, Kerr and Fletcher are only 175 cms, 178cms and 179 cms.And are also as hard at the ball and have no problem getting the ball unlike some taller players in the Carlton team.

Great news on Barny (if accurate). Wasn't a huge fan when he first came across, but seems to get better each year. Busts his arse every game, often against 2 or 3 opponents and is sorely missed when out of the team. Needs help though. Recruiting a mature age' ruck should be priority.... Biglands, Gardiner, Keating?

Thanks for the info Captn Carlton.

About the height issue, you can add Luke Power 179cm, Daniel Kerr 178cm, Brent Harvey 174cm, Danial Wells & Nick Stevens both 180cm.

Betts has been terrible this year also. He wont make it either. To short.

Scott West is 178cms.

Crawford is taller than 174 isn't he?

And let's not forget, Libba 169cm. He's about the only league footballer I know of that is shorter than me. ;)

You are right. I would have said though that Barnaby busts his gut every game or is it Barnaby busts his back every game? Anyway, great news on Barnaby. He sees a great chiropractor...

I don't think we need a mature age ruck. DeLuca and Bryan are our backups at the moment. I would look at grooming a young kid though and bring them through... perhaps we are doing that already with some of the rookies.

I don't know about whether we would get Biglands or Gardiner, but let's not even try for Keating. He only comes out in finals and we don't play finals. So let's forget him. His body is wrecked now anyway.

Good stuff Capt.

So.... I can dust off the "MARRY ME MARC, I LOVE YOU" banner I started weaving 17 years ago, when I predicted his coming after noticing that birthmark on my arse in the shape of Marc?
