Don't shoot the messenger, and i can't say that my source is 100% reliable as this is the first time i've recieved any football info what so ever from this person.... BUT.....

Word is that Campo wnats to head back to SA. Campo is getting married in the very near future and his wife to be really really wants to go back to SA.

Read what you will into this, but if campo is holding out on signing any contract and we are after Salopek, maybe just maybe Port might just want to deal. Better to get something (even Campo ) than possibly nothing for Salopek.

I'll try to keep you updated with this as info continues to filter through ( even if it is hagwash ) But i'll stay the messenger and we'll just wait as this one runs its course. :-D

In any case Mandy you're not from SA are you ? Didn't think so . And are you OK with all this ? I know that Campo was high on your Have list.

Maybe you'll get an invite to the wedding ??

Thats all ! :-D

Boohoo.

Don't let the door hit you on your arse on your way out, Campo.

You had some great seasons with us, but when we needed you badly, you went missing.

Interesting.

could head back to either SA side, but I get the feeling he'd be suited to the Port Adelaide unit.

Guys I'd look at bring over in exchange for Campo would be...

Stephen Salopek (would prefer to get him in the PSD though)
Stephen Gilham
Ryan Willits
Fabian DeLuca (unite the brothers!!!!)
Dean Brogan

All 5 are gettable targets.

I heard Campo was going to be offered to Port but he declined the move.
He is in partnership with Sticks and Braddles at 'Dockland Press'...The club has really looked after these guys.

Anyway.. where is Campo going to find a club that will pay him 400k pa???

Guys i will try to find out more... Port just seemed a good option in my mind but as this person said , its SA so maybe he knocked back Port as his preference is the Crows. Mind you why wouldn't it be ?

Tractor boy from what i understand Campo would prefer the Crows..

Theres Riccuito getting the ball out... but yes that would be his preference.. REALLY... *crosses heart* from what i understand...

Cant see the Crows wanting Campo though...

Is his salary the problem?

You'd think if Denis didn't really want him and he had a chance to go home on a reduced salary, then he would reduce his salary and go home.

When youre used to getting squillions and someone taps you on the shoulder and tells you "i cant give you that kind of money anymore"...

and you reply " but ive given the club great service and deserve it"

and the club says "cant do that anymore"
theres an ego smashing.... and you might even go elsewhere for the same or slightly less...

I loved the statement his manager made a couple of months back.. "He sees himself as a one club player and has been a great servant"... or something like that...

anyone care to find it???

Id pack Campos bags for him and call the taxi myself..

Brogan would be off limits I imagine after Primus buggered his knee again. :(

Tractor I really doubt whether Port would pick up a receiver as good as Campo. They have a younger version of Campo already on their list in Casissi who actually goes in and gets the hard ball for himself.

Crows would be the only chance if it would cost them next to nothing unfortunately!

Two months ago my info was that none of the 15 clubs were interested in Campo. That's not to say that clubs may not have been playing argy bargy ...

To me Campo isnt a factor anymore..if he goes or if he stays I dont see it affecting our future..if he doesnt accept our contract terms he can go in the PSD.....Port wont be trading anything decent like Brogan for him...

I think Campo's form picked up after that. Most clubs would see him as a back pocket player now. Like a Drew Banfield type. Not good enough to play midfield but fine for setting some play up down back. A no risk pick up if come cheaply for a good club. The problem is his salary. For 200k a team like Adelaide or Port would have a bit of interest. Port keeping picking up players like Peter Walsh and they do seem to do okay there.

I think whatever happens with Campo he's been a great servant and fantastic player for this footy club. I think he deserves to finish his career at the one club but if he doesn't then oh well. Anyone who plays the number of games he has for this club has my respect.

We all know about Salopek

Stephen Gilham is most likely going to get delisted at the end of the year. He has played one game and had little impact. I say we redraft him or rookie him. From memory he is a KP backmen and was captain of the Vic Metro under 18 a few years back. Still only between 20 -22

Ryan Willits is a first year player and he is a big unit. Met him at Alberton a few weeks ago nd I woulndt mind if he came down to the club. We had a bit of kick with him and he was having hots from 50 with both sides of his body and nearly making it. Also a great bloke and has the attitude you want an AFL player to have. Could play CHB in the long term. Port unlikely to get rid of.

Port might trade for Deluca as he hasnt been impressing but they have said is is a long term prjecgt player publicly so they might persevre with him.

Hands of Brogan now that primus is hurt.
