Not my favourite man ,John Elliot, but he has a fair point to ask just how a Lawyer, very well paid by the AFL,can qualify for AFL Life Membership!

To cap things off ,Browne did us no favours in his role in "Black Friday"

An absolute disgrace! The mans made a fortune from fotball, and the question is, what actually has he done for the game?

Completely sucks. Oh and I loved the panel. Demitr-spr=ew, his lackey Sheahan and Kennedy who has hardly had a stellar career on the commission.

Big Jack has been swinging more punches than a Bukowski drunk.

Another AFL disgrace. How come we are not surprised?

And credit to Elliot on this one.

The guy's a deadset shocker and an embarrassment, but this time he's spot on.

There's no way a guy whose become rich sucking on the AFL's teat should be given life membership over countless others who have slaved voluntarily for their club, and the game.

On you Jack, still fighting which is what i like to see. Wouldnt be a bad idea to bring Jack Back any chance of having a shared Presicency, Collins and Elliot?

Christ no....the last thing we need is for the AFL to hate us even more. Add to that it's too soon after all the damage he helped bring about to effect a full reconciliation.

probably be a few more punches landing home if that ever happened. If you really want to see 2 old men knock lumps off each other, just hang around the bins at Flinder's St at 2:00 am.

Post subject:  Collo and Jack

When Collo was signing the cheques and Jack was steering the ship, they were the most powerful combination in footy.Feared by all.Give credit where credit is due.Jack and Collo working together were fantastic for Carlton.Collo going to the AFL started our demise.Things started to slowly slip away.

The massive debt brought about by the white-elephant known as the Legends Stand... AWESOME

Missing out on stitching up a great deal at the MCG because of an outdated and stubborn belief that optus oval represented our future... AWESOME

Trading the club into near-insolvency... AWESOME

Refusal to use the draft, or barely even acknowledge its existence...AWESOME

Cheating the salary cap so blatantly that we got hammered like no club ever has, and probably ever will...AWESOME

Getting pissed and insulting nearly everyone who crossed his path... AWESOME

Destroying just about every business he was ever trusted with... AWESOME

Yep, gotta agree with you there Barone.

When will some people learn to separate the bluster and populist rhetoric from actual performance? The guy was a clown who specialised in bluff, bluster and swagger. Substance - nil.

I don't see why this one is always blamed on Jack..

The rest though... yeah...

I liked Jack as a Carlton character though, despite his suckiness at everything else...

Whilst David Parkin was technically the one to blame for ignoring the draft, I think it was pretty much a cultural philosophy at the club. Elliot's a pretty unreconstructed guy, and everything he ever said about the draft and the cap suggests that he had nothing but utter contempt for it.

And Elliot's business record suggests that if he doesn't agree with something philosophically, then he'll just either ignore it or bulldoze right over it.

In many ways, his leadership of the club was rooted in 1980. The way we ignored the new realities of the draft and the cap smacks firmly, in my opinion, of the way Elliot liked to run his enterprises.

That's just the guys, if it's a female, then he would get pissed and make inappropriate comments to and at.
