National Australia Bank head Ahmed Fahour is being courted by the club to join the board. Seen as a successor to Collo long term. Barracks for the Blues.

Here's hoping he brings some coin with him :-D :-D :-D

What does Bruce Mathieson do for the club ? He is a rich pokies tycoon. Why can't set something up for the club that is going to make them money.

Great news Kenny. We need a few new faces on the board and a succession plan for the future.

i used to work for NAB ... know he's done quite well so far since being poached from citibank (got quite a few shares and options!! )

he's a FANATICAL carlton supporter and even tried out with the U19s (back in the good old days of course).

heard a story once that he moved in with his uncle in princess hill area to avoid being in the filth's zone, and as a result got a trial with carlton's U19s when southby and swan were coaching. i think kouta and christou were comtemporaries.

he's the NAB AUST ceo, but definitely the NAB global ceo heir apparent ... can't see him finding the time to act as a board member ... unfortunately

those options i mentioned are heavily tied in with him improving the NAB share price ... he's got his work cut out for him!!

He is an ex La Trobe Uni Economics lad, was in that course 4 or 5 years before me. His favourite lecturer was Rod Maddock, so he has good taste.

Does not mind throwing his power around either, I know that in a meeting a few weeks ago there was some construction noise in the building next door which was disturbing the meeting, he made one phone call and the construction work was stopped.

Sounds good........

cheers Mr Hunter.........we need Men like Mr Fahour
on the board........!

i'm going to ask a stupid question.......!

if i had sayyyyy........five Million $........and i sayyyyy
donated it to the Carlton Football Club.......would this help
our situation.........?

oh kay......so it doesn't have to be five Mill.......lets
say 3 Mill........no......let's say 1 Mill............what about
500 grand.........?

what i'm getting at IS.........do we not have 10 supporters
who could each donate 500 squid to the club......thus
easing the pressure......and they get their names on some
plaque in a park somewhere..........!

yes i know.......just a silly.....un-educated question......
but a question non the less...........!

i don't know the machinations of a football club..........all
i know is........the team I support seems to be
in a lot of trouble.........and it's ripping my guts apart........!

the way i see it is..........you don't drive a car on a
blown tyre.........if there's a spare in the boot..........!

stop.......change it..........then head off.......and you'll
be going at a faster rate than before.......!

yes i can hear you all now........"but we have FOUR blown
tyres".........!

maybe we do.........sooooo maybe it's.......
"time to say...HELLO"...........!

kindest regards tommi

diz-zeeeeee.............!

To support Kenny Hunter, I was told this last weekend, also that Fahour was considering retirement from NAB.

Maybe more significant board news to come in the future.

Collo has been courting him for a while.
The signs are good,

Tommi .. rich people dont become rich by giving their money to footy clubs.

As for whoever asked about Mathieson.. just cos you dont see him doesnt mean he is doing nothing... DAN MURPHYS sponsorship..

\
Hope he is of the kind of ilk that can be president...
I dont reckon Smorgon is presidential material....

I reckon Smorgon is presidential material. He was brilliant at the last game at Optus, and he chaired that committee well when determining our home games should be played at the G. Pity Collo and Demetriou did a bit of backdealing...

Smorgon is probably next in line however and will make a good president for the Carlton Football Club.

There was an article on him in the Age Business section a few weeks ago, what caught my eye was him Carlton tie.
Sounds better credentialled than Mad Max Gratton.

Smorgon has been riding the coat tails of Collo for three years now...Id love to know what he has actually done for this footy club as an individual.. not collectively with Carlton 1.

Id be extremely interested to find out the answer of this...

He is not really a footy person...
He has been unable to help find a sponsor.....

i want to kknow how he is second in charge...!!!!

i hope this NAB bloke is as good as Collo thinks.. so we do have a president.

PS Collo might not be around too much longer...

Isn't he the guy on The Man with Two Brains?... Mr Faaarrrourrrrghhh. ;)

Seriously I saw him interviewed on TV a couple of months ago regarding some fraudulent activity at the bank and he spoke very poorly. He was totally out of his depth and looked very silly. :?

Still he must have some skills to get where he has. 8)

oh tommi... they dont give ... they only ask from others to give.

yes they could if they liked... but their wives dont understand...

abd behind every rich man there is a woman waiting to stick it up his clacker for spending money foolishly...(throwing it out)

I think this NAB bloke actually played some reserves games..... is that right?

I think he'd be good. If not him, I reckon we should get Olivia Newton John... for no real reason
