I'd love to hear Lance spell out the exact reasons why he thinks he deserves even MORE money. Come on Lance - get real. At trade time last year you were a laughing stock. This time around your value has been enhanced by a few weeks of playing the Jason Cloke role in the backline. Still not enough to be passing the hat around for a raise. |

yeah, must admit from the picture, Murphy looks like a good build to be a good strong midfielder. |

Therre is nothing wrong with what Fev said... He just said what everybody knows... even if we havent rubber stamped it yet. Now all he did was try and make a positive for the club in his new role as 'The Face' |

How about on the footy show on Thursday night when they were discussing a possible move for Fev to go Collingwood. Sounded like there was a 'YES' comment from the direction where Fev was sitting. |

There was nothing of the sort said on the footy show. Geez chinese whispers or what. Eddie (moron) said that every player who is out of contract or rumoured to be traded is linked to Collingwood, and he gave the example of Fev being in the news as being trade bait so all of a sudden they link him to Collingwood. Then Sam Newman asked the question would you be interested, then he said nothing and moved on to the next subject. |

Synbad can I just ask. "Why do Carlton have trouble announcing the player they want, ie Murphy" ? Why is everything so secret ? Is there a tactic I know nothing about ? |

why show our hand? wait till after the draft camp, we could always change our mind you just never know. telling the world we want murph, just means other clubs can prepare who they want in the draft. remember what happened last ware with griffen going before tambling |

We could change our minds. As Cazz said in another post all the measurements are taken at the start of the year. Bottom aged players like Varcoe and Ryder might have gronw a bit. Imagine something like Ryder is 197cms at draft camp and 95 kgs. Then we are talking Mitch Clark size and athleticism without the squib attitude. Best to leave it until as late as possible to keep the options opened. |

But you pick someone on consistency and reputation, not how they go in the draft camp and the amount of centimetres they grow. This has been Carltons mistake to pick someone on potential growth etc than someone who has played consistently well over a period of time. |

Potential growth? What do you mean? They are measured at the start of the year in Feb. We use those stats throughout the year. He is this tall and weighs this much etc. Now it is 8 months on and some players are bigger and taller. Measure them and see. Not based on anybody growing in the future but on what they are now. Based on consistency then Ryder and Kennedy have it all over Mitch Clark. They have both been playing seniors for East Freo but Clark had to drop back to U19s after a poor carnival. Clark is the one with the big reputation based on him playing senior football first and his form at the U16s carnival a few years ago and a few cms on his KPP rivals. Maybe he is not much bigger than the other blokes now. |

I hope he is as good as what everybody is making him out to be. I also hope he doesn't get thrown into the deep end straight away. |
