It's bad enough that on "Footy Day" at school she's the only kid in her grade who turns up in Carlton gear, now there's a good chance that the player that she identifies with most is headed elsewhere. |

Face of Carlton? Young players in Carlton jumpers who consistently play with heart. |

Young players in Carlton jumpers who consistently play with heart. Who amongst our young players is marketable? Who amongst our young players has the charisma needed to engage kids and have them pretending to be them while kicking the footy in the backyard? Give me names and I'll test them on Lil' Miss Wojee. If she latches on to one or more as her hero then I'll happily admit you were right. If she ends up supporting the Cats if we lose Fev then you can buy her a Geelong guernsey, because I sure as hell won't. |

See where you are coming from 79 but as GWS said on another thread Livo has great character and integrity but he is not exactly a marquee name. Woj the nearest one would be Waite - ask LMW what she thinks about him. |

I'll give it a shot. She did like Simmo for a while, but that was because she was 6. Who will be wearing no 7 next season? |

You could always say Davies is a Shepp boy, even if he is no cert to stay. Actually, haven't heard much about him. What's going on? |

If he can continue to take those 10 man deep pack marks, he will become a cult hero among the kids. Others to consider would be Simmo, Eddie or Waite. |

She's a little young to swoon over Fish, and if she were a boy it'd be easier to get her impressed with his marking skills. I'll see what I can do though. I'm just sort of glad I hadn't gotten around to getting Fev's number put on her guernsey after she asked mid-season. I'm hoping I still can, but it's looking grim ![]() |

I broke the news to little 3rdeffort after bed time story 2 nights ago about fev possibly going to the tigers. I expected tears and had all of the 'only a rumour' 'not confirmed yet' excuses ready. His response was: "Ok Daddy, who are we getting in return" I was amazed!! I asked him who would be his favourite player if Fev goes, his answer: "Jarred Waite!!" I remember during our last visit to the Carlton shop he had $2 left out of his pocket money after buying the footy, lunchbox etc etc. Being like his dad he wasnt one to want to hang on to money so he went looking for something worth $2. The result was a Jarred Waite badge. Jarred was also about the first player he chased for an autograph at the Jnr Member's day (mind you the crowd around Fev was about 200 deep by then). Waitey seems like a great bloke and is good with the kids. He is going to be a superstar player and after that game the day his dad died he has more character in his arse hair than half of our list already!! How about Waite as the next face of the CFC!! failing that, Eddie Betts or the one I am waiting for SETANTA!!!! |

Setanta would be a good one. However, let's see how he goes first in his first official year on the senior list of an AFL club. |

Ok... I'm an expert at this ....I've had to find out who's who for kids for mine and all the kinda/school friends.... For the Blues Kids love Fev - immediately recognise that he's a kid Fish - Yep...love the name (easy to remember...cards, one fish two fish) Kouta - well why wouldn't ya - but the name is something they remember (even though poor buggers have never seen him in full flight) Simmo - See Fev ....BUT the biggest surprise...... Eddie Betts! - Love him - easy name to say, looks like a kid, has genuine excitemnet and electricity when he goes neera the ball and you hear commentators and supporters go up a notch... I was very surprised but he does command a fair bit of the back yard kicking the winning goal commentary! |

On grandfinal day i met this family - all of them were wearing swans jumpers (both parents and 2 kids) but there was a 3rd kid who was about 4, wearing a blues jumper with 25 on the back. The parents said they forced thir kids to support the swans but the little boy loved fev so much that he wanted to support the blues. Given a lack of success, lack of superstar players, lack of television coverage and a captain who has a contract that prohibits him from appearing on free to air TV, I imagine the only kids who choose carlton as their team do so because of Fev. I hope the board weigh this up when trying to crucify him on his 'short comings' |
