Do we think he should?

Give the job to someone else because he aint captain material
Give the club a new direction.Take a risk
He has only 1 year left.

He should give up the captaincy at the end of 2006 and play through 2007 as a Harvey/Crawf type as mentioned in the article...

That's what I'd like to see...

Very happy to let him captain one more year.

I would have given it to Stevens.

Kouta did win the B&F which shows he still is our best player.
We can judge the younger players potential, but have any other players really stood up and said "I want the Captaincy". I dont mean a player verbally saying it to the media but being the first one training, the player with the most Best On Grounds.

Judging on last years performance Kouta was the best even though it was a dissapointing year for the CFC. I would keep him captain for the reason that we have no ready replacements.

We all Stevens is a star but does he deserve the captaincy?, some say he was injured, but the fact of the matter is he wasnt a regular consistant performer in the 2005 season!

Year 06 will decide who is a leader and who isnt

It's always been acknowledged and assumed at Carlton that Nick Stevens would be the next appointed Captain of the Club.

What has Stevens done though to really deserve the captaincy? People always suggest his name but for mine he hasn't demonstrated that he would be a good captain for this club.

By the showing of leadership qualities out on the ground at match time; at training; and in general around the Club.

Don't know what he's like around the club but I just don't think he's a real 'leader' out on the ground in the true sense of the word; then again though Kouta isn't either.

I think that people would like to believe that Stevo would be a good captain; myself, I need more tangible proof starting in 2006.

Agree he should be Captain for one more year. There are no real stand outs for the Captaincy, so the season coming will allow the Pagan to select a successor.

Kouta hasn't exactly set the world on fire since he was appointed as captain either.

You're not keen on Stevens, nor are you all that keen on Kouta.

Who would you like to see as captain?

I'd keep Kouta on this season as we have very few other viable options.

So did Corey McKernan.
Likewise David Teague.
Doesn't make him an awesome player.

Fact is Kouta was appointed captain because there was no one else. I believe if Stevens had been at the club a few more years before he came, he would have been captain already.

Kouta running around this year was embarassing. Running around as captain was even worse.

since Campo is going, Stevens should be the vice-captain right?
