Good thing is he's setting himself a goal. He knows he didn't get there but he wants to improve. I think that's a good attitude to have, to want to continually improve and even mentor younger kids.

Definitely smacks of leadership, shown more leadership in one article than Camporeale did all year...

Where were the articles about Camporeale wanting to mentor the younger kids?

JR sound eager which has to be good for the future. He says he aimed 5 games, but i dont think DP thought hes body was ready for it. JR spent all summer in the weights room!

I think he will make it, but I was slightly disappointed giving he was 9th pick in the draft and the wraps on the kid.He definitely needs to bulk up and hopefully will play senior footy next year.If he plays magoos footy in 2006 then not in defence.If he is worth something he must play on the ball not in defence at this level of footy.

Campo was only good when he had good players around him and he didn't have to lead. He didn't want to lead. There's more to footy than just pure skill, if that's what it all is, then Angwin would still be here.

Would some of you have preferred him to say.... "stuff it, the new kids can fend for themselves and I couldn't give a rats If I get a game on not as long as they pay me". The kid has just turned 19 and spent his first year playing for an AFL club with next to no leadership. He showed more leadership in the VFL than alot of the more seasoned players on show. He didn't shine but he did enough in the 2nd half of the year to earn his spot. And what is this idea that to prove he is a good footballer he must be an onballer. Where did Lappin play in 2004. Where did Hodge play last year. Where did Andy McKay play for his career. Give the kid at least 1 year to find his feet before you write him off. Regards Cazzesman

It was a lovely article, well written and full of good intentions...let's just leave it at that and not get too carried away. I have to say I agree completely with the second bit of Abaddon's response. It's sad that people forget how good a player Campo really was for this club and we'd be blessed if Russell can emulate a career like Campo's. I think that it's time that you moved on, CarltonClem.
