Our Club at the moment is like the giant jigsaw I have of the '95 Flag side except; that jigsaw was complete, whereas ours is still fragmented.

But; the components are all coming together nicely and slowly falling into place; 'tho much quicker in reality than I thought they would.

This rebuilding caper; once banned at Carlton, is something new and alien to us and it's taking a bit of time and patience to get used to....but we're on the right track.

Gee it's been hard hasn't it?....heartbreaking at times; frustrating and even infuriating....how many marriages have suffered?....Survived???

We've been spoiled rotten in the past, and we have also been removed from football reality....no chook raffles for us....no sausage sizzles for us....no no no....it's been Corporate boxes for us "Silvertails".

Weren't we the first Suburban Club to install Corporate Boxes?....the wealth of people like Laurie Kerr and Lloyd Bendall like a bottomless pit enabling us to "obtain" players.

We would open the paper. and another hitherto unheard of "Star Player" from Interstate would be on our list....it was as easy as that.

Want a Full Forward?....Enter Warren Ralph....Want a Full Back?....Enter Geoff Southby from Powerhouse Amateurs via Bendigo; not a problem.

Rebuild?...."We don't rebuild" snarled Jack, and we all arrogantly cheered and clapped and looked at our reflections in our 16 Premiership Cups and sneered at the "riff raff" of the Competition who weren't "on our level."

All of a sudden; the wheels started falling off....Jack's businesses started collapsing around him....there was the infamous "Aaron Hamill" incident....Jack was embarrassing us all talking about "Footscray's Tragic History"....his marriage foundered.....and we were in desperate trouble on the playing field.....(excuse any chronological errors)

So Jack confounded all of us who were possibly hoping to get a Coach with a profile and experience like Terry Wallace; by signing Denis Pagan; a two times Premiership Coach....Hallelujah! We all cried!

A wise man once said that you can't win a Flag without the cattle.

Denis....the corral is filling up with some nice cattle....and I'm excited!

Good 'ol honest post there Warbs. I enjoyed it.

I think the penny has finally dropped down at Carlton and we can all watch in excitement as our youngens turn into men.

If you think about our proud history, it being so far superior to any other club you could almost say we havn't experienced the true emotional rollercoaster that the other clubs have.

But now..............I'm all strapped in.

Yeah; thanks mate....I hope people don't see it as being negative 'cos I'm not; I'm very excited about our future.

It has been a hard road in the last few seasons after so many successful campaigns preceding them.

The "old Carlton regime" didn't like the new ground rules (the draft) and thumbed their noses at them as though they were superior and could win regardless.

They couldn't ....and didn't....but that's history....onward and upward!
