I don't know or care which section this topic belongs in because i am so inuriated at the attitudes of some of the people on here. Recently we have lost one of, although controversial, our best posters. We all know that every thing on here comes down to opinions, and if one is not allowed to express an opinion then what the hell is the point of posting??? Since a recent public event i have become good friends with this poster and considered him a genuinely great bloke to talk to. Because of recent happenings, regardless of the circumstances, he has decided to take no further part in any of the Carlton Online Communities or their organised events. I find this a shame and an embarassment to the community out there. it is pathetic that someone can be treated in a way that he wants to exclude himself from anything to do with you's. After discussions with him, he has told me that the issue is deeper than simply being treated badly, its about a mate having a mates back. The people who he considered great friends, the ones who he met through various events with TBV or TC, decided not to stick up for him.
I'm not sure if he wanted any of this posted, but i find it necessary. Him walking away from all of this is a great loss to the Carlton Online Communities. As long as people have opinions there is no way we can all get along on here, or in life at all. I know this, he knows this and you know this. During the short time i have been apart of the Online Communities i have had my share of bad days - times when i said something that may have been mis-interpreted. Everyone has had their bad days...so why do we have to be so critical of one-another? We are allowed opinions and we will always find ways to express them. I hope that your relationship hasnt been affected with this person because he is a fantastic guy and i couldnt have more respect for him than i do at this moment. His decision to walk away, although heartbreaking, is the most honourable and courageous thing you can do.
It is your loss....

You should all be ashamed...

he left without a fuss, so im guessing no-one else even knows about his choice to leave except me. He is not angry, he is not frustrated; he is just over it. Over being treated like dirt and not having his 'mates' stick up for him...

Not to over-dramatise the situation.......

Dude, this is an internet forum. People who have their heart broken on here or any internet site should really not be on them in the first place.

Abit melodramatic?

I don't know what story you're talking about, or who you're talking about, but internet communities like real communities are nothing but the input of posters on a range of topics. If someone doesn't enjoy it anymore, then its up to them to move on. There's no need for some shameful post about shame on everyone else.

This in a week where TC has burst at the seams for interest as the Blues really start their climb, well, as I said, just melodrama isn't it?

Shag, did he get a warning just before he left?

I know who you're talking about and as stated here by the moderator's he was allowed back under certain circumstances.

If he doesn't want to abide by the Guidlines to posting on TC like the rest of us then its his decision to leave.

yep, i understand that totally. im just pointing out that its a very bad loss to this site. And its not even the fact that he was put on parolle...or given warnings...it was the fact that all of these 'mates' he made didnt stick up for him. How would any of you feel if you were in the middle of a fight you cant win with one person (me) to back you up?

I think we all know who it is. And I think we all know he's more than capable of standing up for himself. And we also know he'll be back. Eventually.

Mandy, im not 'sticking up for him' the purpose of my post was to outline the loss that he is to this site and tell you how much respect many of you have lost from him. If he wanted to stick up for himself he would have done it....he didnt need me for that

Its admirable of you to come here and defend him, but if his issue is with his mate's should you be taking it up with them individually rather than TC in general?

TC has done fine without him for most of its history. He does add something different, but its his choice.

I understand your feelings. Personally, I'm disappointed he's gone. He makes me laugh, albeit for inappropriate postings at times.

All I'm saying is relax. He's left/been banned from both here and TBV before. Whenever he comes back he never seems any the worse for wear because of it.

I don't know what exact situation you're talking about that left him feeling hard done by other posters here, but he pushes the boundaries because he chooses to. He should not want or expect anyone to venture out on that limb with him if it's a situation he has created himself.

yep brad....bingo.

but as i said before, not only was i trying to take this up with them, but also just alert everyone that he has left, and that its a big disappointment....maybe not in everyone elses eyes, but to me its a huge disappointment - especially if this starts to happen more often.

I don't know who the heck you are talking about...or anything about the situation but I can say that to some of us, relationships whether on the internet or in real life can really bloody effect you. We are all human and our feelings can be upset ..and we can be angered to the shizen...whether it is written or said is irrelevant IMO. Some of the shit I have seen on forums if it doesn't effect you that's when I would start to worry ....

Sometimes the best thing is to walk away. It is better for your health and wellbeing...I know this... :-D
