Son of a Butch - a football bloodline Quote: So when 17-year-old Jake Edwards — a strapping key-position prospect with the Western Jets — had "a quiet meeting" with Carlton earlier this year about the club's interest in drafting him, Jake's father, Allan, joked around the dinner table that "if you go to Carlton, I don't know how I'm going to put up with it".

As I think DB mentioned! This will kill the oldtime Collingwood and Richmond fans... Sweet! |

![]() My thoughts exactly JC. I guess we should just take it while we can. Young Jake sounds like a great kid. |

Great stuff - the Club was trying to arrange press for this time of year but it looks like the press have picked up on the hype and freshening of the list and ar erunning with it. Even the Hun had a small snippet on Kennedy today, which seemed to just pull from earlier articles. great to see positive press on Carlton. Mods - would it be worth a sticky on the off-season with links to all draftee articles? Given the traffic that we've been getting, and the chance that more Blues fans will check in to read about our draft success, a single thread with all the articles / links on Kennedy, Murphy and Edwards + Bower would make a great read. |

This bit is the best, theres not enough of this attitude these days. Quote: "If you don't make it, it's more important to be a good person. And that's the attitude we've had with the three of the boys and that's the attitude they've got."

thats a good read. when i first heard we picked up Bower and Edwards i was like who! ohh crap a couple of duds probably, because i didn't know about them. But reading a bit more about them and they both sounds like great young guys with a lot of potential, and a top attitude. and the best bit about it is they are both pretty well developed so hopefully can get some games under the belt over the next few years. |

His old man was one of those guys whom I use to like watching despite the jumper he wore. My best mate [a Woods fan] use to rave about Edwards. From memory he had knee trouble which curtailed his career. I could be wrong there though. Regards Pedro. |

Bloody good idea. I could then tell my not so internet savvy mates to come here specifically to check out the info on our recruits...... |
