Just wondering if anyone knows if we have hit the jackpot and our new recruits have level minded realistic managers.

Over recent years it appears that certain managers have had there heads up their a&*^%, and in essence player / club relationships, not too mention time lost in dealing with them have had a negative effect on the club.

I just hope the new guys have decent managers who will give them sound advice.

PS I think we got one back with Lappin, but it still was a ridiculous situation.

I think that just as the era of paying players whatever they ask for, just to keep them, the era of player managers is definitely waning, and the leeches are starting to realise that clubs are becoming far more hard-headed and less sentimental about players. This can only be a good thing. I've had it with specific managers (Yes, I'm looking at you, Ricky Nixon and Dave Allison) doing the game and in the long term, their players a disservice by screwing clubs for no reason than that they feel like it.

I'm all for player representation, but just as in agreements elsewhere in life, the payoff is a two-way thing, and the players and managers have to get used to the idea that you can't just take money for nothing (And chicks for free.....).

In the long run, that will be good for the players, as the clubs will then approach them with far more honesty rather than trick them into one-sided deals in favour of the club.

I'm sorry I'm unfamiliar with this term.
