I don't know if anyone watched it last night - but on fox footy last night they had footage of the 1979 season.

There were two classic plays.

Mark Maclure played well in a lot of the matches they had clips for.

In one match - against the dons - he did a brilliant baulk and then shuffled around to score a goal.. gee he was a gun in 79.

another piece was from...shame to say it.. timmy watson from Essendon*.
it was the best piece of play i have ever seen from him.

If anyone taped it or has footage of 79/81/82 seasons - can you send me a private message on it... love to get a copy of that footage at any price.

Maclure was quite mobile - for a man of his stature - when he played on after taking a mark (which was quite often) he generally swung around onto his wrong foot (left) and generally left the Centre Half Backs of the day quite flat footed.

Very underated was Mark Maclure.

The hardest gig in the caper is CHF. Maclure played CHF in three flags.A truly great player.Amazed that this bloke doesnt get the credit due to him.Extremely underated.Deserves to be ranked alongsides the likes of Sticks,Dermie etc.

Hear, Hear. Put me in the Maclure fan club.

Great Carlton player, great clubman and (dare I say it) one of the smartest Centre Half Forwards to play the game. e.g. the tap along the ground to Marcou to seal the 1982 Grand Final.

Sellers was a fantastic player during those glory days. He also knew how to dominate off the field as well, he taught the likes of Johnno, Bucks, Bomba well.
