Sports Tonight on 3AW just had an interview with Nick Stevens where he gave an account of how Carlton's day had involved a couple of appearances by serial pest Peter Hoare.

Firstly, Peter Hoare appeared at the civic reception with a black cat on his shoulder, proceeded to stand behind the players and Denis while they were having their photos taken, while he was heard to continually recite, "The cat is the coach." The Newcastle Police threw him out of the civic reception, but Peter Hoare returned for the Carlton practice match, where he rode his tricycle around the ground, again with the cat on his shoulder and with some comments blaring out of a megaphone.

Seems Peter Hoare has moved down in the world - World Cup Qualifier, Michael Hutchence funeral, Melbourne Cup & Australian Parliament - to a Carlton AFL Community Camp.

On the football front, Nick Stevens said Marc Murphy did well in the practice match & Setanta kicked a couple and set some others up, also there were no injuries other than a corky to David Teague.

If Hoare's a Sydney-sider what would he know about football?

Its nice to hear Setanta getting a good mention!

I think he has heaps of harsh critics who want him to fail.
He has only played 1 senior game lets give him some exposure to AFL.

So has Waite fully recovered from his injury?

Also interesting to hear Dwayne Russell discussing their interview with Jason Akermanis on the weekend.
Apparently Aker was asked who the best run with player was in the AFL.
Aker nominated Andrew Walker.
Stevens stated that Aker complained to him that he couldnt shake Walkz off.
A big honour for the 19 year old.

Now what are you whingers complaining about when Campo v.Brisbane (an infintely superior version since 2000) nominates the young kid as one of the best in the league?

That is a huge wrap for Walker...first of many I think (from his peers, of course).

As we age, our priorities change .....
The other day I came home
and was greeted by my wife,
dressed only in very sexy underwear and holding a couple of short
velvet ropes.
"Tie me up," she purred, "
and you can do anything you want."

So, I tied her up
and went fishing.

IIRC Aker turned to Walker after the game, shook his hand and simply said "Well done".
Of all the players in the AFL I reckon getting complimented by Aker would mean the most because he says it how it is.

Post subject:  It depends who you ask.

Mind you, if you asked Chris Judd or Lenny Hayes last year, they probably would have nominated Walker as the worst run with player in the AFL.

Or perhaps they would realise 18 year olds are not always consistent.
Any run with player gets touched up occasionally, even the best.

I'm more than happy with Walkers efforts.
