It's the leadership group letting us down, once we get leaders like the Eagles we'll be in Grand Finals too.

I'd be happy to have Ben Cousins in a Blues jumper....regardless of his off field antics he is a good on field leader and is an elite player...his teammates obviously rate him judging by the support he had at his press conference...Murphy and Cousins would a handy act in the centre square..

I would have had Jarrod Waite in that group of VC's...obviously Whitnall and Stevens are seen as the next captain material...that doesnt overly impress me...

Congratulations to Kouta

One of my all time favourite players, has reinvented himself, remains dangerous in the middle and up forward and should have worn the Norm in 1995 IMHO. Hope he has a cracker of a year for the Blues as Captain, and helps to lift us up the ladder.

Much is said of his weaknesses, and 33 year olds tend to have a few, but our expectations are high for Kouta. Hope we manage to work around these weaknesses in 2006 and get to use Kouta in more damaging roles (no more fill in at CHB)!

One wonders if he can start to take a few more grabs around the ground - wouldn't that be fantastic?

Good skipper group and congrats to Kouta.

It'll be interesting to see who else is in the leadership group.

Obviously Barney is one of them, but who else? Waitey? McLaren? Teague? Scotland?

The group was voted for by the players. Kouta was a clear winner for Captain.

Whitnal, Stevens and Lappin were then voted in as vice-captains.

Normally I would agree about off-field antics Elwood but the murkier this story gets the more I am glad he is not wearing navy blue.
