Apparently our former president John "Let's throw our money away and build a granstand at a ground where footy won't be played in the future" Elliott was on the radio this morning. Does anyone know what that $#@&!* said? |

Dribble and more dribble. Just keeps saying that our current predicament is not his fault. That the business model they had was a succesful one and blah balh. Whats worse is that when they need a bit of a quote about the blues, the moronic threesum that makes up morning glory always ring JAck. Bar Andrew Maher, who kept on pressing his questions, The other 2 morons just kept fiddling themselves, refusing to ask the hard questrions. The man is pointless |

I listened but it really wasn't worth it. It was was same old "it was better under me/I only take responsibility for the success not the failure/it was the AFL not the grandstand/ people keep calling me up to come back/ it's all the present administrations fault" sh1t. |

What he said: * In 20 years of his reign, CFC made one loss in 2002 of 240K. No other loss. * Current administration have not found a major sponser in 4 years. Major sponsers are worth 1.4million pa. Optus sponsership is redirection of ground renaming. * AFL did backflip once contruction had started on Legends Stand to intial support of project. * Major supporters like Pratt, Smorgen and Grollo not interested in outlaying money to current admin. Major supporters very nervous about current boards future plans. * Social club was life-line of club and once we moved to Telstra Dome it was always going to be the clubs demise. * Player payments. Sounded out Kouta's contract and explained his contract quite back ended. Kouta stayed at CFC for a lot less at the time. * No one has question the reasons why McKay and Hunter have left the board. Obviously imlpying something here, but did not expand and wasn't asked. ** Didn't want to discuss salary cap issue. I think that was most of it. |

We breached the cap like a lot of other clubs and the AFL screwed us. Some of our members overeacted to the wooden spoon and threw me out so I couldn't fight the penalties. Unfortunately the guy who replaced me is too close to the AFL and has a massive conflict of interest and didn't have the balls to fight for our club. |

Elliot said that he accepted no responsibility at all for Carlton's current situation. Andrew Maher questioned that the current situation of the football club has a lot to do with a). the building of the legends stand, b). $1 million salary cap penalty, c). out of control player payments. Elliot said that he would not discuss salary cap issue, and went on to spout the rubbish that has been mentioned above. He ended up saying that he didn't want to answer Maher's questions and would prefer to talk to Watson and Brownless, who "actually know something about the game". Watson, who earns part of his living from footy journalism, should of asked Elliot the exact same question, but went to water. A good performance by Andrew Maher - i haven't heard anyone in the football media question Elliot's ramblings in that manner before. Swan McKay appeared later on KB's program and refuted everything that Elliot said. |

I would love to hear that come out of his mouth but he will never admit guilt in business and in life. The problem isnt that we breached the cap. It was the way we went about it and the amount we breached the cap by it gave us no excuses becuase we wernt even close to what we where supposed to be. |

Even after the slap on the wrist the scum got for buying Hird and Lloyds massive world wide internet rights? Please! The AFL f#$%ed us and our new board at the time had no clue what to do. Every single member who voted Collo in are partly responsible for our current demise. |

Seems a complete denial of History! The fact is that Elliott led a regime that showed a compete denial of the rules and regulations regarding the Salary Cap.Contempt some might call it....I would say arrogance! To excuse it, is DENIAL! If that was not bad enough,he chose to mis-read the Mood and expectations of the Footballing Public re Ground Facilities!...A legacy that nearly sent us to the Wall! To cap it all off HIS Administration failed to accept List Control and as a consequence we still suffer from a badly imbalanced playing Group... Elliott????.....History will judge him poorly! |

Elliott would have bankrupted the club trying to take on the AFL. He'd also have driven the club into the ground just like the rest of his business ventures and personal wealth. |

The AFL probably wouldn't have bothered fining us like that if Jack was still in power because they would have known he'd fight it to the death. They knew Collo would have just rolled over like he did. |

How do you sleep knowing you support the man responsible for cheating the salary cap resulting in huge fines and loss of draft pick as well as building a white elephant stand that nobody wanted to sit in? |
