Post subject:  Consecutive Goals

We never seem to be able to kick consecutive goals, and too often concede immediately after scoring. This was one thing that drove me crazy last year, and again on Saturday night. It seems that whenever we're winning a lot of the ball in the midfield we often have to work amazingly hard to kick a goal. More often than not we either:

a) miss a lot of goals in succession, failing to capitalise on our chances, or;
b) work our butts off, kick the elusive goal, then almost immediately concede a goal to the opposition. This happened at least twice on Sat night - after working hard for goals I told myself that Geelong would kick one straight away, and they did.

Not sure if it's fatigue from overuse of the ball and our flooding style of play, or just a lapse in concentration after finally scoring, but it happens far too often.

NBH I know what you are trying to say but we did kick the first three goals on Saturday night.

I think our problem is it the opposition get a few in a row against us we drop our bundle and never recover or play catch up all night.

to me the players lack confidence and dont actually look like they are enjoying themselves . when it becomes less of a chore and more of an enjoyment thing their conficence will pick up.

Hope it is soon

I thought about posting a similiar topic to this earlier.
It does seem once an opposition goal is scored many more are followed in quick concession. It seems we either loose confidence or concentration.

In order for us to move up in the ladder it must stop immediatly! Eg In the last quarter in the Geelong game After Kingsley got that soft free kick and scored they kicked another 4 goals in the space of 5 minutes. Its unnacceptable.
