I sent off aan email last week just to find out about our position re the assistance fun. Nice to see i got one back

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for continued support of the Carlton Football Club though your Membership. In relation to the Carlton Football Club possibly seeking assistance from the AFL it is important to remember that this is only a possibility we have not made a decision to do so. The Board of the Carlton Football Club has approved the Club's entry into discussions with the AFL to explore a range of possible financial alternatives to improve the financial position of the Club. These alternatives include the redevelopment of Princes Park and an AFL contribution to assist. It also includes examining means of reducing the Club's debt. Not to be involved in such an ongoing process would be derelict of the Club's Board.

As you may be aware the Club has established a Carlton Football Club Foundation that provides an opportunity for supporters to assist with the raising of funds for the redevelopment of Princes Park. The Foundation is registered with the Australian Sports Foundation and donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Should you require further information on the Carlton Football Club Foundation please contact Nadine at the Club on 03-9387 1400.

Regards,

Ian Coutts
General Manager - Communications

Re: the carlton foundation... i am starting to sound like a broken record...
brkkreccoooscrhheekkek! (is that how broken records sound?)

but really WHY ON HELL CAN'T THE FOLLOWING EX PLAYERS contribute something to the Carlton foundation when ex-players such as Meldrum, who earnt so much less than the players from the 90's can contribute something..?

The players who should have their name on the carlton foundation list are:

1) craig bradley - earnt over 1 million from the club and can't find $5000 to give to the club... very sad.

2) Andrew McKAY - earnt over 1 million from the club over his career but can't find $5000 for the foundation.

3) Michael Sexton - another player who played over 6 years for the club in the 90's and can't afford $5000 for the club.

4) camporeale - he wonders why carlton people dislike him... give to the foundation you money hording scab.

Do you know that they havent? Some people like to remain annonomous. I cant see Bradley chasing recognition givin how private he seemed about his affairs when playing.

Im sick of hearing bitching and moaning abour past players and what they should do. We employed them to do a job and renumerated them to do a job. At the end of the day so long as they did what was required they owe us nothing. If the club saw an advantage in trading them during their career they would have. Football is now a business and there is no loyalty only lip service. Of the players mentioned above only Campo shits me because he didnt perform to what was expected. He was a senior player who was renumerated well and expected to lead, the only leading he did was down the garden path.
