Accepted…but it's just the 'look at me - this time I really AM going to run away from home' stuff that gets to me.

Paid up 2 weeks ago, still waiting for the mailman to deliver it but I've gotta admit I feel like I'm doing it out of obligation and loyalty rather than excitement and expectation.

Memebership is about the club and its survival not the coach or the players. The club will always be bigger than the coach and players , and lets just remember the coach and players are only temporary. Buy your membership and support the club, things can change and stop behaving like Tigers supporters.

Some people just amaze me, but they are entitled t be that way, just not my kind of people.

I have posted this below in another thread-but its relevant to what I would like to offer on this thread:

In the risk of getting shouted down, I wonder whether some posters on this board have really understood what kind of results the St.Kildas, Sydneys, Melbournes, were getting when they were in the rebuilding phase we are in? These teams would get shallackings, often at the end of a Carlton game. Why? Because the players were young, inexperienced-the sides were still forming their game plans etc.

Ok, maybe in due course it may be another coach that will more out of the players. But c'mon, let's keep our cool and realize that rebuilding phases with youth will inevitable mean there STILL will be thumpings. Go ahead and look at results from the Bulldogs and Demons etc the year before they came out of hiatus. They would get thumped. They were at the bottom of the ladder. Even just weeks before before these teams rose from the ashes to sget more consistent wins and compete in finals they were belted.

What I am suggesting is, we need to live in reality....And give it time-at least let's see where we are at at the end of the season to decide whether the development is where it should be. And whether a change of coach is just the ticket.

Now about supporting the Blues.... I live in Sydney. I only get down to see 4 or 5 games a year. But I am proud to be a Gold member and to have my 4 year old son as a Gold (adult paying) member. Because I am committed to the team, the Club and our future.

Same.

The goons on radio are just looking for a story. 5 Carlton fans ringing to bag the club represents the whole fanbase to them. I wonder whether these people are even members to begin with and even if they are, its probably just after the Wizard Cup last year

You think we're in turmoil now?

Imagine what life will be like if thousands of fan's dont sign up and we enter Round 1 with 23,000 members? There's the issue of this year but there's also the issue of next year and keeping the Club up & running.

Carlton needs its members. Carlton needs each of you.

Yeah, that's a scary thought.

We need people to be smart and if they consider themself an honest supporter then the club should always be put first.

Buy a bloody membership.

Yep. And while you're at it, stop calling yourself Carlton. If you walk away from this club 'cos things got tough, then you're nothing but a pissweak front-running, downhill skiing knob anyway.

Pack your bags and @#$%&! off if you're not prepared to do the hard yards.

I treasure my 2005 and 2002 memberships more than I ever treasured my '95 one.

Why?

BECAUSE IT MEANS I WAS ON BOARD WHEN MY CLUB NEEDED ME THE MOST.

Anyone walking away now needs to take a good, long, hard look at themselves.
