I the would love Voss, obviously all in package.
If not reckon, a Ratten and Dean duo, with existing assistants would be great.
The bleed navy blood and are respected CFC greats.
They may not be specialist tacticians but you can be sure they would get the boys playing competitive footy,!!!!!!

Peter Dean for me.

Loved him as a player and reckon his footballing values would serve us well as a coach.

I'm honestly not sure what he has achieved as a coach but I believe he has had some success.

The only player in SydneyBlue's list I would be happy going with would be Sheldon.

The others are complete unkown quantities as senior coaches - could be brillian and could be full of horse shit.

I find it pretty idealistic to think that just because a bloke was a club champion then he'd automatically be able to coach. Exhibit A: Tony Shaw.

I really don't agree with the sack Pagan bandwagon. It seems people are losing their nerve for the long-haul. Sure, we could sack Pagan and install a Brett Ratten and we'd probably win a few more games in the interim but behind the veneer we would still be as waist deep in the shit as ever.

Band-aid solutions are never the answer.

Looking at Dannyboy's premise though I would only look at coaches with a proven track record. Ayres, Alves, Sheldon.


Of all the possible choices though, I'd offer the job to Robert Walls.

an untried talent IMO - Peter Dean

but if he is untried the one thing i know is this, he will instill a culture of playing for the jumper, just like he used to play, and at the moment, we need that more than anything.

and we have to look outside the square IMO - half the problem with Pagan IMO is he is yet to adapt to the current game plan, having said that, you could argue that he doesnt have the players at his disposal to do that, and to some extent i agree, but over the last year or so i think he has stated to make defensive decisions, not offensive decisions, and quite frankly, i think a few players have done backwards under Pagan.

If there was to be a change, and I'm not sure the sky has completely fallen in just yet, but if there was, i'd look at a younger type assistant coach looking to move up the ranks .

Gary O'donnell for mine. Worked under Sheedy and Mathews.

Does anyone know what David Rhys-Jones is doing these days?

He had a very successful coaching stint in Tasmania a few years ago.
