Missing from senior squad:

Bannister
DeLuca
French*
Kennedy
Kouta*
Longmuir
Raso
Saddington*
Sporn
Whitnall*
Wiggins

Doesn't bode well for Bannister, Wiggins, Longmuir and Sporn I wouldn't have thought.

Only probably four players (*) away from our best possible team, without considering Kennedy.

Squad looks good, and aside from Lappin shows our boys what they'll be working with in a few years.

They throw Pagan jack shit and he responds with "you do the work then".

Hard-line stuff :)

Does the club have to pay a fee to play rookie listed players in the NAB challenge? I believe it costs something like 1500bucks per rookie in the NAB cup. would like to see Ryan Jackson given a shot

Should be a good game with the Weagles missing Cousins, Judd, Kerr, Embley, Glass, Cox etc...

Hopefully the weather up there isn't like it was last week...It should really give the young guys a good crack at it with Kouta, French and Whitnall missing...

For me, i will be very interested in seeing how Mclaren goes, it will also be a good chance for Hartlett to get a full game at CHB and hopefully gus like Murphy, Russell, Bower, Blackers, Jackson etc. get some serious time on the ground unlike the past few weeks...And please play Walker on the wing this week, there is nobody in that side worth tagging so just let him loose..

Temperature today in Alice Springs ranged from 26 at around midnight last night to 35.3 at 3:30 this afternoon. May be the reason why some senior players are being rested.

I could usually wrangle a business trip to Alice Springs but Mrs Blue has won a free night at the Sky City Darwin Casino for Friday night so I have been instructed to be on hand in Darwin....... if she shouts me a few crownies I might just give in. :)

Ok 28 man squad.

24 usually for a pre-season game, given the probable heat I would say a 26 man squad is very likely.

So out of that list, only two to chop - but who?

Provided they don't intend to rest another player based on the weather, that leaves you with Prenda, Scotland, Davies and Teague IMO.

As stupid as it sounds, Prenda has been the most promising out of the four so far this pre-season.

Next you'd have to say Scotland, who hasn't been effective, but has gotten his hands on the pill and provided a link option at least.

Teague has been nowhere (shame) and Davies has been a walking turnover.

Depending on what the coaching staff have in mind for Prenda, I'd probably say Davies and Scotland will get the nod, at the very least for some midfield speed.

West Coast in Alice Springs. Chances are we won't even recognise the squad they put on the park though :s

Actually had a shot at goal & kicked it for a change (& only 4 others kicked a goal)!!!

Sporn, Wiggins, DeLuca. Longmuir ? injured.

I think last week everyone had a go, so if it's hot again could be same again.

Hope Ryan Jackson gets a good run..better value than a few on the senior list IMO..Callum Chambers gets a chance too, we were as slow as treacle v Port and I think Chambers has a chance to cement a spot for the opening round...his skills are ok but like Scotland doesnt get intense enough...Chris Bryan needs to get agro too and look like he really wants to be a AFL player ..no Dean Cox and Bryan has to show something..

Also be interested in West Coast boom recruit Shannon Hurn..plenty of talk about him at draft time considering his build and SANFL experience.
Matthew Priddis is another..mature age WAFL player who I was impressed with on ABC digital..untidy looking sort of a bloke but knows how to get the footy a lot and could be a very cheap recruit who may get a few games...seen as a replacement for Drew Banfield...

Could be a good game of footy and I expect us to do well ....

Good to see Livo in for his first run of the year. Hopefully he can show a bit more improvement after a slightly more encouraging year last year.

I'd really be tempted to give Nick Stevens a rest, he's gonna have a long....long...long season. And it's good to see Livvvo get a run. We all live in hope for the lad !!
Also agree with the earlier comment on Ryan Jackson getting a good run. He really looks like a natural ..... got a bit of Simon Black about him IMO.
Can we get a live feed of the game?? Just wishful thiking I suppose.

Imparja isn't showing it, but maybe a regional radio station is broadcasting?

Anyway...MAybe we are going to get pumped again and again and then go into Rd 1 with an overconfident Melbourne...If they can be beaten in one area, it's an area that we can play (although we only show it sometimes) and that's hardness at the footy
