I'll start. How did Lynch kick 2 goals? Whoever played on him should be dropped

On a serious note, the shithouse media coverage on a win for the club.

Who the hell is Andrew Aloia at the Herald Sun? At least the heading was Ok "Blues outclass Eagles".

To quote the Sportal article "Minus their top stars, Chris Judd, Ben Cousins, Dean Cox, Daniel Kerr, Daniel Chick, Andrew Embley and David Wirrpanda" The Panda is not as good as Wirrpunda however :?

Negatives?

Still allowing some easy f50 entries from a significantly poorer team.

They probably should have been close to grabbing everything coming their way in the forward line, how did that go? Would have been an excellent time to practise some forward setups.

Aside from that we showed we still had plenty in the tank to burn off the Eagles 2nds (I really wish it wasn't, but it pretty much was). The good thing about play such an undermanned side is that it shows that we don't have an issue so much with pace as we do structure and cohesiveness as a unit, because I doubt the young eagles would have been any less speedy than their best 22.

Having said that it sounds like we were in control of the match from start to finish, without having to push too hard in terms of effort or intensity. My only hope is that they know how to push for and maintain those higher levels in the season proper.

One other thing - the full flood tactic, can we really sustain that in the season proper? I'm not worried about getting burnt on the rebound from a turnover because our numbers will still be back, I'm worried about our ability to consistently find an option on the rush forward, and what it could do to our players late in the season, especially with the rule change. It could result in being an ineffective game plan on account of team endurance.

Aside from that - Go Blues :)

Negatives:

For the past three weeks (including today) we have been making WAY too much out of pre-season form.

Hear, hear.

Also, I didn't get to watch/listen. I wanted to soak up the strains of "Lily" at the final siren.

I don't think we'll be the only team doing it. Basically everyone does it these days. Some teams do it more, and I doubt we'd be at the worst end of the scale.

I'm with Gerard Healy on this one. If they really want to defeat the flood, then they need to reduce the interchange bench, and so reduce the running power of teams. (It's usually even worse in the pre-season with the extra interchange players, and early in the season when fitness is at its peak.)

I heard Murph had some Bandaging around his thigh, Was that just to ice it up due to heat and still being up to a whole game or is it some more serious we should worry about??

Positives:

We Beat West Coast In the Pre-Season AGAIN.
Fev Was a great big strong target who presented and Booted 5.
Fisher is becoming a star in his own Right
No Whitnall, Kouta, Barnaby or Saddo

Negatives:

Probably The LEAST important game all season!!!

Good work Blueboys.

My turn
They had plenty out that would turn the game around into something scary.

We had guys out but the reality is that their missing vs our misdsing should've given us a huge advantage not just 3 goals.

No photos of Bower's mark.

If we were the Mandys there would have been a decent media contingent there to catch it.
