After all the negativity it was good that

1. The boys at least had a small win against the eagles ( some might say the eagles had their second side in, but i will take the win.

2. Marcus Clarke has come out in the herald sun today on the front foot
expressing what alot of us feels.

3.Greg Lee coming out earlier in the week doing the same.

I think it is time for a change to the side

Clarke and Lee in

Pavlou and Valmorbida out

Here here............ We definetely could use a Lee and Clarke at the moment. At least they are not sugar coating anything and are speaking about change and making Collo accountable. I am sick of hearing about Elliott and the draft etc. 3 years have past, move on. I want to hear about what they are going to do in the future, and stop blaming past mistakes.

I must be getting cynical in my old age.

How many new posters with a political message will we see over the next few weeks? :?

Its not old age Blue Vain thats making you cynical ... one might believe you have been that all your life....lol

So you know i am an avid reader of TC and know many of you guys but sometimes you have to come out and support what you believe will be good for the club.

Marcus Clarke is not happy with our injury management and fitness.

I am not quite sure what he means by that comment in relation to injuries. I thought that would be one of the positives for the club. We have very few injuries partucilarly in the soft tissue area.

Mate, Linda Lovelace wouldnt swallow that.

I'm sure everyone here is quite capable of making a decision all by themselves.
I personally will be voting for at least one of those candidates but if you've come here to solely score political points, you're underestimating the intelligence of those who post here.

It will be hard to sort out the opinions from the propaganda in the coming month

This dude was on the TBV... i know who he is... hes a reader mostly nowadays..but you have met him BV

still his first posts (on here) were political i guess...

But good to have you aboard 'The Don' i hope you continue posting including stuff outside of politics?

I wonder what happened to Italian Blue???He didnt get upset about the 'old coffee and tuna'' thinggy did he???

Now that was definitely someone alligned very close to a current board member.

In fact thats the problem with the current board as far as im concerned. They come on here to send a message when it suits them (not doing it properly of course because theyre not upfront about it...).. but they dont usually have time for the internet generally... (more of a mixed message)

Than they come in here and just crap on about this that and the other when they should be coming in and giving us REAL REASONS why they should be re elected to the board.. what have they done in the last 3 years and what do they plan to do???

We want policies not the slush Italian Blue gave us...

Just more lack of creativity and smallminded rubbish!!!.. and thats why we need a change!!!

Discussion of politics & policy is healthy - berating personalities aren't - keep it clean and people might end up voting for the candidate you support.

I'm being naive here - I know.

8) All speculation Synbad, and it takes a lot more than your dribble to affend me.....

Greg Lee and Marcus Clarke would be very good on this board but I wonder what impact it will have as JV would have to go for the other 2 to get in and he is one of a few that really has some clout when it comes to business....All I want to see is what is best for Carlton and if that means that JV has to go then so be it....

Post subject:

Well.. this guy came on and gave everyone a dump vintage.. so just giving some back...

Ok italian blue... if JV was all of that...!!!.. and he isnt!!!.. (were talking clout he right???.... cos it seems he has no clout on our own board let alone outside .. because if he had any brains he wouldnt have thought this boards performance was that good that he was a shoo in.. Let me give you an example.

In my opinion this board has been impotent with many of the obstacles this club is currently facing.....
This board rode into power ousting Big Jack on the back of what the members wanted... stuff like transperency ( ironically i dont see much of that .. ).. and what they said at the time was a broadly representative board.
There were 12 going in.. and they chose fit to walk into the elections with twelve???... because they said that the former board was exclusive...!!!

Now then, we have had the resignations of Greg williams, Stephen Silvagni, Kenny Hunter and Swan McKay..!!!!

The board has decided with all of the wisdom of Soloman that they want to keep it tight and keep it shrinking to a preferred seven!!!..Not quite there yet but from what i understand thats the magic number.

Why would you have a shrinking number of board members on an impotent board???Surely it should have been encouraged to allow others to put their hands up if they have something to offer this club while its down???

If they had some of the vacant seats up to be replaced your mate JV.. who supposedly has some clout around the place would not be under the pump right now...

You make your bed you have to 'lie' on it..

You cant have a shrinking board and your seat on it safe... its called democracy .. and he will have to win it in an election...

and if JV was that good and Lee and Clarke had something to offer it should never have been an issue with the shrinking board size as we could have had them all aboard.

An oversight that came back to bite them on the bum ????

Just cos everyone gave them THREE YEARS for a challenge doesnt meant that they had those seats theirs forever... especially in this environment.!!!

I hope we have two new changes and if Hart is any good.. id like to have three changes.

Why the hell has this board gone back on their word about not holding a seat on the board and being on the MC like Sticks???

Weak?
Liars???
Backflippers???

What???

Its certainly cost us!!!... hasnt it???

again that kind of decision impacts us on and off the field but it gets back to the board!!.. like so many other decisions that have cost us have!!!

Ifd like to hear why we should vote JV back...can he provide us will REAL REASONS???

Cos at the moment what were getting is.. good times are just on the other side of the horizon.. just keep walking.. theyre just on the other side of the horizon.. just keep walking.. their just on the other side of the horizon.

All i hear is "Big things about to happen!!!" and ive heard that for three years...

Talk is cheap!!!

We want results!!!

You can add having our round one opponent cop a belting at the hands of Adelaide to that list of good things. Sure pre-season form doesn't count for much, but I'd rather had the dees cop a flogging two weeks out from round one than have them go on to win the NAB Cup.

Surely the comment about injury management would be about allowing Fev to continue to play last season. But that's been done to death on here already.

:) Just more dribble dribble dribble from you Synbad......

Why don't you put you hand up, ho sorry dribble dribble dribble...always negative about Carlton.....Dribble, Dribble, Dribble.....

Not negative about Carlton at all... but very negative about some of those in charge making decisions.

Do you think i should hand out gold stars to them ???

were last you know!!!

Ps how about abit of argument .. show abit of ticker.. abit of logic.

Instead of hiding behind your finger???

Dribble eh????

Yeah it is... but you cant get an argument together though against it can you???

Like i said if youre John Valmorbida.. or his son.. or even his secretary... you should get him to state what he is doing for the club for us.

Do you think you can / he can do that???

Wed love to know!!!

We are Carlton supporters / members you know... and the election is awfully close.

The fact that hes imports foreign branded stuff.. does not translate into him being a great asset as far as our merchandising man goes.

So get him to tell us what he offers has offered and is planning to offer...!!!

Im giving you a hint to give him a hand...!!!

I reckon the days of staying in indefinitely without offering anything noticeably positive went out with the Jack crew.

We dont need people making up the numbers we want doers..!!!

Agree??? :-D

oh damn and to think this thread had the potential to be postive.

never judge a book (or title) by it's cover.

p.s i got confused reading this thread as to who it was that was guilty of political agendas....? How could it be Don who lasted only 2 posts after such a great start with the title.

As a Blues supporter, i for one am happy that we had a win and that some fresh voices are putting their hand up for the board.

I say, well done to anyone making an effort to contribute to the club as board member, volunteer, contributor to the CFC website or fundraiser. I thank you all and you are far more appreaciated than my simple gestures of being a member of the CFC and TC (reader or poster from afar).

Sure there is a time for change and a need for urgency, but there is also a way of going about it.

I am looking forward to the bullies this week and more inspiration from anyone that is attempting to make a meaningful contribution to the club's future.

p.p.s here is for many more postive threads!

The Whitehead announcement was also a piece of very good news. I still have Whitehead's number on my jumper, I thought he was going to be pretty good back in the early 1990's, and his story is sad, but from the CFC point of view to end the costs, management time and negative press is very good news.

All the AFL commentary about doing something for us was very very good news, depending on how it gets managed / utilised too.

GOod that the crunch came pre-season, really.

There's good news everywhere, just need to know where to look.

But the best news of all is that finally Mike & Dan have a new logo. Thanks Camelboy. Look out for it... its' sccchhhhwweeeeettttttt mate!
