We're definately due then. The odds for winning by 20-40 points are a juicy 8:1.

Connolly says that in the next game against Carlton at Subiaco on Saturday, chip-kicking style would be gone - as would up to four players who started against the Hawks.

We certainly won't just chip and kick our way through the whole first half (against Carlton). We will be looking to move the ball in an up-tempo fashion.

And they're expecting it to be 30 in Perth on Sat! I guess it's lucky it's not a day game.

Bookies expect us to lose easily:

FREMANTLE 1.32

CARLTON 3.40

A bit like last week!!!

So were underdogs again, we have nothing to lose, Freo will go crazy if they lose to us. Lets win and get this years first sacking of a coach.

I've been working in perth all week and everyone is bagging the Dockers - back page of the Worst Australian today was something about 'Chips off the menu at Freo' as main story....

Everyone is on their backs over here so expect a big start from the Shockers.

That being said, Freo play like Demons (to my limited footy mind) so Game Plan A will be interesting.

I'll be there making plenty of noise.

The temp's been climbing into high 20s the past week or two, some days in low 30s, but the temp drops to a cooler 16-17 degrees by about 6pm when the match will be going on. Heat shouldn't be a factor.

The time is ripe for an upset. We'll be up against it but you can sense a little panic in the air around Freo - not just Connolly - I reckon some of the players are going to have questions asked of them sooner or later (indeed thanks as usual to Rob Walls for doing so  )

Midfield pressure is the key at Subi IMO. We don't really have the engine to shake the Eagles, but the Dockers are an inferior unit and if we can apply the squeeze in midfield they will not get such easy ball down to Pavlich and Medhurst, who traditionally slaughter us.

I'll be there too making as much noise as possible, should be a good blues supporter turn out after a win before coming over!

I reckon the Dockers would be getting sick of having bad press - sooner or later its just not going to affect them

Seriously i agree with ponkstar the game will be all about stopping the Carrs and Hasleby Bell etc running forward and into space on the wing - thats where they win games. I really like to see Walker moved up to the wing along with Slimmo and get as much pace in the middle as possible.

Also Fev, Waite and Eddie will have to be on top of their defensive game as they run the ball from defense well. Having said that Fev will be more than a handful for Parker and Waite should be too quick/strong for Murphy/Johnson :-D

Could go either way CARN THE BLUES!

Buoyant Blues out to break hoodoo

Victory against the Demons has again raised hopes of a legitimate recovery and, on paper at least, there is reason for optimism heading into Saturday night's clash against a shaky Fremantle.

Fevola was listed as having a calf complaint but he trained yesterday and Pagan said he would make the trip west.

Forward Brad Fisher will miss the next three weeks with a strained hamstring, which may allow Simon Wiggins to return.

Former Swan Jason Saddington is expected to have another full match in the VFL before pressing for senior selection against his old team in Round 3.

I still reckon it'll be Santy for Fisher, ideal swap.

Unfortunatley I have to miss the game due to needing to be at a wedding to avoid divorce. Anyway, last year vs the WCE we were able to shutdown their midfield during the first half but due to their class and our lack of midfield options in 2005 they ran all over us.

If we can do the same in the first half on Sturday the pressure at half time on the Dockers will be enormous and if we're in front watch them turn on their team. They will lose confidence unlike the Eagles did and we may be in line for an upset. The keys are Sandilands, Pav, Longmuir and Farmer. Play Carrots on the Wizzer, T-Bird on Longmuir and possibly try to create a mismatch with 1AW on Pavlich - he could run off him and match his leap - Obviously be no good in a wrestle but we wont win this conventionally
