Post subject:  Andrew Walker - Well Done

I want to congratulate Walks on his game last night.

I thought his game last night (in my personal opinion) was the game that we have been waiting for.

His strength, run, decision making, disposal etc more often than not was excellent, and watching the game inspired me, even when we were down.

I hope we see him move further up the ground as time goes on, because I realluy want to see Walks, Murphy, Bentick and Simmo dominate and form a real bond as our midfield.

What were other peoples assesment of his game?

Very happy. I am happy with him in the backline. He will only get stronger and it means he can play on taller blokes and run off them at will or smaller blokes and dominate them in the air. I like the idea of Tex and Russell running our of the back half - like King did for Nth. breaking the lines and setting us up.

Tex will also be able to be tossed forward when needed. In fact Tex is one of those players that can give a team a great balance because of their flexibility.

Oh and yes the last two weeks Tex has shown he will be a game breaker. He plays a far stronger, physically, game than some of the other kids and we need to give him time to get that strength. Very happy with him.

Terrific game by Tex. He was probably the biggest positive from the night. And he has gone up a peg or two with his disposal and decision-making, especially his long kicking.

And to think he's only 19!! :P

Well done 1AW! 8)

I wholeheartedly agree, poise and dash off half back, whilst pushing beoyond the centre line on occaison. Even thought his disposal was better than usual.

Tried to stamp his mark on the game. For mine, showed that he has real leadership potential down the track.

Great game Tex.

Showed confidence with his dash but the highlight for me was his kicking. He was really pucnhing the ball hard over 50m with his kicks and hitting his targets. The HBF suits him and he looks like he finally belongs.

Agree Walks was sensational, and i believe we are well off having him and McGrath running of the back flanks. both are fast, well poised, and great finishers.

Go Walks! :P

He was the shining light in the darkness in last night's first half.

He is still young, still learning, but he has arrived as an AFL footballer.

I am even half-relishing a Walker v Judd matchup in the not too distant future.

Every man and his dog know that Walker has the natural talent.Last night he eventually looked like a totally proffesional footballer. The signs were there at training last week. But he has to do that every week, and then we can say he has arrived.Talent wise,he is the best of our young 'uns.

Good effort by Walks basically tried to hold the defense together. Conceeded three goals to his direct opponent but was having to do too much. Good work Walks, you've shown a lot in 230 or so minutes of football so far.

HBF does suit him at this stage but eventually will be released to the midfield - at 19 football world at his feet and with murphy and walker will be the dynamic duo in our midfield for years

Like Kade last week, Andrew looked like he belonged out there last night.

The dash, the poise, the improvement on the skills etc etc

Was really something to watch and easily his best game since his debut.

Won the ball well and gave us some drive but Farmer kicked three so that took the gloss of for me...needs to be further up the ground on a wing where he can do his stuff without worrying about a man..dont like seeing him wasted down back trying to save games ..

Who is the player that should replace him in the backline? He could be wasted even on the wing if his replacement can't create the dash and drive he provides.
