That's about as official as it gets, it seems.

Smorgon to take over? Seems like Seven is just making it up as it goes along. Guess we'll see after next week's board meeting

Just reported on ch 7 news. Apparently due to health reasons. Collins will neither confirm or deny

So who takes over?¿

Or is there an election?¿

Hutchy on 3AW says the same thing. Smorgan believed to take over.

BUT....yesterday morning on 3AWs Rumour File Ross Stevenson STATED " Mark McClure has recruited Mark Fitzpatrick to take over as Carlton president in the near future".

I'd rather Fitzy than Smorgan, but I guess we will have to wait and see...

Anyway, Collo, if you feel you need to go now...Thanks for everything you have done to help this footy club scrape it's way out of the Black Days of 2002

Doesn't he still work for the AFL? He's also been reported as saying he doesn't have time for the presidency. I hope so though - he would be exactly what we need.

He does BGD and he did say that.

Might have to get on the phone...

I know, but maybe...just maybe...this will be a short interim presidency while he prepares the way.

He's in Noosa at the moment Fitzy, you might be right Mrs Caz, he certainly can't just step down from the AFL commission and waltz into the CFC.

It's been a long time coming but order has been restored. :)

It was on a need to know basis, and you didn't need to know. :P

Molsey, perhaps it was a very astute journo who read Carotn's constitution and realised this coming board meeting is Collo's only chance to stand down (or whatever the constitution says).

I spent a lot of time with Ian in 02 & 03 but I was so footy illiterate back then I missed out on all the goss! Oh well, if he IS going, and without wanting to get into a 'Well - what did Collo do for the CFC?' argument, I would like to say "Thanks Ian!" - anyone who feeds my cat is a good man

Thanks Collo if its true

If its not, you better think about it anyway. You'll be remembered positively for coming back to look after us I reckon.
