19yo Eddie Betts continually setting the tone

Dylan McLarens addition to team

18yo Marc Murphy playing midfield and performing

20yo AB showing heart & leadership

Lance Whitnall showing leadership & doing the job on BBBBHall

The teams never say die attitude.

The ability too be allowed too play one half of football and nearly win games.

Betts was great, Lance showed great leadership, and the other young boys are developing.

even with Lappin out, Waite out, and Fev ????

Hope we get too see Ohailpin, Russell, Kennedy etc soon.

Best two players were second year lads, Betts and Bentick. McLaren wasn't as bad as I thought he would be. Lance went alright on Hall. Murph was masturbatory good with his skill.

And Luke Darcy is a cracking special comments man. Breathe of fresh air listening to him. Hope they keep him on.

Marc Murphy come on down. Some great ball in the second half and shoved it down Fev's throat on 3 occasions.

Fevola looked ready to drop the bundle a few times but bounced back strongly.

Eddie Betts the human 1%er

McLaren and French partnership.

We were woeful for much of the game but played with tremendous heart to get into it. It's important that the boys don't drop their col;lective bundles because the next win is just around the corner.

Stevens played his best game for the year and kicked some goals.

A much improved performance by Deluca too - those gloves made a difference to his marking.

McGrath continues to be one of the few to really stand out when we are under the pump.

Murphy stepping it up when we need a lift. The boy always seems to play his best patches of footy when the side needs it.
A born leader.

Today's biggest positive is that FINALLY we get to play a team that isn't coming off a terrible loss and a subsequent week-long baking in the press. If the Hawks lost today it'd be 'Clarkeson's job on the line' 'kennett to lop heads' etc... instead, they'll be spending all week in front of the mirror, preening themselves. Good.

Another positive. Nobody is on here talking about the game so there would have been a stack of people at the game.

Another positive. The Raiders won in the league tonight.,

Marc Murphy - this guy is playing like he's had 100 games of experience.
Deluca's Gloves - keep wearing them please
Mclaren - I like him, he tackles well, can take a mark.
Saddinton - looks a bit rusty but better than Livo for sure.

just got back from the game...
not sure what it looked like on tv but in the 3rd quarter murphys gather and carry between 2 opponents and then deliver to fev was sensational. reminded me of a greg williams but with pace!

Darcy is brilliant as a special comments man and dare I say it has a good partnership with the great man!

Eddie Betts, Mclaren's efforts, Fev's chasing and anger, Murphy, Lance and the efforts of the younger players to keep working hard were the real positives.

Murph was great, disposal, calmness etc. Showed a lot of things that a guy with 3 games under their belt shouldn't.

Eddie Betts is an absolute steal and thank christ we nabbed him, he was all over the Swans tonight with his pressure and creativity. Hell of a future!

Bentick was very solid again, tough, gets the ball and great goal

DMac's goal saving tackle and then kicking a crucial goal to make it an 11 point turn around. Will be a good addition I think and he throws his weight around.

Lance did as well as could be expected of him on Hall. Well done.

Simmo made a few f*ck ups in the first half but kept fighting and did well in the end.

Deluca fought back tonight with a good desplay

Saddo looks like he can offer us something, great goal under pressure

Shouldn't forget Fev who did as well as he could with what he was given

Crowd and team for that 4 goal 10 minute period in the third, that was exciting and positive and mostly likely 10 minutes of excitement more than Sydney will give their supporters all year.

Largest Home and Away crowd in Melbourne against the Swans ever - I think

Lance Whitnal killed Hall

No Lappin -No Waite and only 7 points

Murph

Simmo

Positive: you can see the progress before your eyes.

I'd like to bring up a negative: we failed to keep the foot on the juggular midway through the third and won the quarter 5 goals to 4 when it could have been 6 goals to 2 or more.

A positive from that though is that we were in complete control of the game at that point, and it was a joy to watch.

Edit: Correction in bold.

Thought Lance playing as a loose man in defence was brilliant - oh hang on he played on Barry Hall - might just make a CHB might Lance

Murrrrrrrrrrrph..........The only bloke - the only one, who understands you kick the ball for Fev to run to not kick at him! Get Murph to teach a few others.

AB's grunt.

Simmo's third - gave us the spark.

The fact that the boys never stopped when it as clear early we had no forward structure that would kick a lot. DeLuca played well but he is not your go through man. Hope Waite is fit for next week!

The fact that we were shite and lost by 7points...Too negative for too long yet we almost pinched it. Good sides pinch them, bad sides lose by 10 goals. We are not yet a good side but we are improving. We may finish bottom 4 (I think we will) but we are a better unit this year.

That third quarter.

Eddie Betts! Bit more muscle and he'll be even better.

Other positives have been mentioned, so ...

Great 1st half from Walks, who I thought up to half time was outstanding. Had a reasonable 2nd half too.

Houlihan again a good player, and getting amongst the contested possessions in the mid-field.

And yes, good game from Fev.
