The Lillee/Marsh combination was pretty famous.

But, tonight I reckon we saw the start of a beautiful relationship.

I think Marc Murphy hit Fevola on the chest about 5 or 6 times tonight with some wonderful kicks.

These two are going to make a wonderful combination for Carlton.

Wrestlemania boy i have you marked down.

Lance did ok.. in a packed defence with Barney back there..,OcLaughlin running free in the first qusrter cos Saddington was also leaving him for Hall.
Played him beautifully didnt we??Helped Lance...

But hey... we were zoning... and doing the opposite to what Port did last week.. where they played the Swans man on man...and smashed them.

We dont have the confidence to play the Swans man on man...

The positives for me wernt floodding the defence and leaving Fevola one out against a handfull down the other end... and less through the midfield.
Wasnt it refreshing to see McLaren going forward and taking a maek down the other end??? Kicking a goal... attempting to win the game instead of saving it by jam pacjing the fence???

the positives were Murphy, Bentick, Carazzo,Walker,Betts and the Fev,,,,thats what i get my woody over... tomorrows team not last decades.

Swans are a shit team at the moment. The only thing that stopped us from winning was daring to win. We were in that game ... probably lacked the confidence to attack where we defended and zoned into a packed defence.

Like i said before The Game,.. when i wanna know about the Wrestling your the man ill come to.

Ok?
Lance did ok.. but Hall got them over the line when it counted.

It was crucial we got Murphy and Kennedy last year.

Murph will run the midfield for the next 10 years.

Smart.

Actually too smart for most players and will forge a decent partnership with Blackwell.

Boy wont Fev be happy.

I was thinking about what Blackwell would have added to the game tonight and I'm looking forward to the day when he lines up alongside Murphy. Though not as much as the day when Kennedy is ready to take the focus off Waite, Fisher and Fevola and a physical element to the forward line.

Juzzy.. unlike Waite .. Kennedy will add something we dont have in the team.
He will be a genuine tall .. someone that when youre a midfielder coming forward you cant miss.. A huge target man!!!!
A Power forward...!!!

What that does is straighten us up more and give the midfielders confidence in a target to kick to.

The beauty of Kennedy is not just that he is big and strong.. but he has a very good work ethic and will continue to present,

He will add a completely new dynamic into the team.

With Blackers and Murphy and Sammy Sheldon in the midfield along with Bentick the emphasis is now going to be on the recruiters to look at more pace.

JR must be brought in now and blooded..,Walker should be begun to play through the midfield... its got to start now!!!

Murph's picked up the tempo of AFL already which is a godsend for us. His instinctive decion making & skill in weighting his passes to Fev is a sight to behold for someone his age playing at this level. Can't praise him high enough.

Are some suggesting that WH actually got it right :?: :?:

Do you mean the hours, weeks, months he spent putting together the military game plan that got MM to CFC was actually worth it. :?: :?:

But so many said MM wasn't a #1 pick at just 178cm. What about Clarke, Ryder, Thomas etc etc etc. :?: :?: :?:

Horses for courses. We needed a MM at CFC and WH went after him. We also needed a JK and he is on the way shortly.

Next time you see WH around...just say 'Well done'......nothing more, nothing less. I'm sure he would like to hear it

Hey im not one of those... i do like my own players ... but i have faith.

seriously though... the talent is coming in.. we need a bit more and then make sure the coaches develop and extract the most out of each.

That's abit premature about Sheldon don't you think?...

It all depends where we finish this year. If we finish higher up the ladder we will be less likely to pick him as we will need to take the best player available in this super draft by all reports.

At this stage it is resembling a 2004 finish..

The next four games are winable, after that we have a long hard run though..These next four games could determine our draft picks.

sheldon will be our third rounder i reckon.

We will take 2 other guns before him... and he will be the third gun on our list.
The info i have on Sheldon is he has a sniff of being drafted and is doing alot of work to make sure he does.

.. to go along with his undoubted talent.

Now if we can only put some meat on Johnnos son for next years draft and take him top age......

That sounds promising then. I would hope that we could take three guns. that would surely leave us in a position to genuinely go forward and not need to finish low down the ladder and hope for the best pics.

I am really looking forward to 2007, especially after what i have seen inso far this season. 8)

Agreed.

That steal and escape from traffic by Murphy was superb, then Fevola's timing on the lead and the faith he showed in Murphy winning the ball shows there is potentially something great brewing with these two.

this is a great point camel. fev has absolute faith in murphy it would seem which is amazing given that he has only played 3 games of AFL level. correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe that all 3 of fev's set shots for goal were a result of murph's passes. shame fev let him down on one.... was it murph who passed it when fev droppped taht sitter in the 3rd 1/4? anyone remember? murphy may not be as obviously spectacular as some of the other high picks in recent years, but he is a damn good footballer.

yep looks to be a great combination Fev and Murph and you can tell Fev is rapt in Murphy as every interview or media he Fev does he always sings the praises of Murphy :)

Looks to be a good thing in fact Fev really looks to be a lot more positive this year good article in the age also http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/realfooty/articles/2006/04/15/1144521546586.html

Fevola's quest to realise his talent is not limited to Carlton. He aims to emulate Ben Graham and Darren Bennett as an NFL punter, and says it has been his mission long before it became a fashionable post-AFL career change.

"Like many people I want to go over and have a go at the NFL," he said. "It's been an ambition of mine for a couple of years. I love it."

Could be a bit of a worry I think.
