First Blue Suits function held tonight. Denis unfortunately couldn't hang around too long as he was required at the board meeting.

A few points he mentioned regarding some players:
1. Waite 50/50 for this week.
2. Skinny 95% likely. All clear from the specialists. He has full mobility of the shoulder.
3. Carlos seriously being considered for this week (mentioned that Jim Stynes took 5 years to establish himself. Carlos in his 3rd year).
4. Josh Kennedy will play as soon as he is match ready (not too long)
5. Big fan of Paul Bower. Said he is now 6'5"+
6. Jordan Russell might still need more time. Said some players just need an extra year or 2, like Kade Simpson who took 3 years before he cemented his place.

Finally some good news. Hope Skinny comes up
He would've been ideal playing the fast break/counter attack style we employed for most of the night on Saturday. Oh well, not to be... :(

Sounds like a good night Bluebern

Well if Fev and Waitey aren't playing this week, so you'd think they'd have to pick Setanta.

Halle fuken lujah!!!!!!!

We have made a number of stabs over the years at getting an undersized KPP in the draft hoping they would grow but didn't, eg. Vance and Massie both at 189cm.

We got Bower at 192cm and already he has grown to 3cm. hopefully there is another 1 or 2cm in him. :-D

Was a great night. I won the raffle!! A signed match ball from the Melbourne game.

Greg Williams and David Glascott have joined us this year. Nice to have some ex-players on board (Adrian Gleeson is on the Blue Suits committee)

That is all good news except for the Waite bit which we all knew already pretty much.

I think Carlos will mess with the Hawks. They won't have seen much of him because noone has, and he's too tall and mobile for anyone in the Hawks backline. Dooo it Denis.

Don't get me wrong, I think it'll be great if Setanta gets a game this week. But to expect him a second-gamer who's still picking up the finer points of the code to be too much for Hawthorn's backline to handle... well, it's nice to dream, but let's not expect the world from him just yet.

Leave him one out with Zac Dawson in the goal square and see how he goes.

Gee, Zac Dawson has suddenly become a euphemism for 'shithouse gumby backman'.

If a Carlton player kept Kingsley goalless, we'd be lauding him as the next SOS.

Just created a blank page on the blueseum for the Blue Suits.

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=Blue+Suits

If anyone has any information about the history of this supporters group, contact details, president/board members, costs etc. feel free to include them on this page.

A good way to promote a group of supporters who help the club.

Why not? I'm expecting Murphy to be too much for the Hawks midfield to handle and it will only be his fourth game

Seriously. I'm not saying he'll dominate them, I'm just saying they don't have an obvious match-up and he and Deluca may throw out their nice short mobile backline structure.

I am singularly mortified whenever this overated softcock hack, continually kicks 6 goals plus whenever we play him and in particular the absolute birthday he continually receives from the umpires - as invariably he gets 2 to 3 gift free kick goals.

I trace Livingston's fall from grace back to that game against Geelong in 2002 (when Wiggin's touched Ricardi's goal  ). Kingsley kicked 5 goals I think on Livingston which 3 were free kicks. My blood boils to this day.

So that would make Bower what... 195cm?

Now that Fev's gone we need one of Kennedy or O'hAilpin to play and possibly both if Waite doesn't recover in time so that's good news that both are being considered.

Cheers for the info BlueBern

Is Bower 6ft 5 with the afro or without??

The same duffer who plays three good games a year and is lucky to be able to hit the side of a barn, from inside the barn, with his kicks the rest of the time?
