…..so can Justin Davies.

Similar traits? Talent… occasional freakish skill… game breaking moments… we’ve all seen it with our own eyes.

JD just seems to lack in the upstairs department… concentration… maturity… same as Fev (apparently) used to.

If JD can get his head right he’d be a very very handy & much needed addition to our senior team. Has the ability to play a number of important roles imo.

You’ve copped plenty on these boards the last couple of years Juzzy but I’ve got no doubt the vast majority of supporters know you’ve ‘got it’ ….so let’s finally see it.

Don’t end up back in the bush with regrets like Karl. We need ya!

What Has JD done to deserve the "Freakish" and Gamebreaker " title?
Coz he kicked 3 in a row against Collingwood couple of years back and kicked a goal or two from tight angles does not label him the above?
Justin has been in the sytem for a few years now!He should get off his ass and show us the man he his! Im sick all this potential talk about Davies.
THIS HAS TO STOP!
I have not seen him this year but I hope to god that he has put on some descent size.JUSTIN YOUR A MAN NOW NOT A KID
It's time you look like one and act like one!
By the way a player who should be titled
*Gamebreaker,
*Freak,
*Shows PLENTY of heart and
*Plays for the jumper...
Is Eddie betts....NOW THATS FREAKISH TALENT!

Exactly right.

In the last 4 years, how many games has Davies won for us?

One.

Comparing him to Fev is an insult. Fev in that time would have won at least 5 I'd reckon, and kept us competitive in many many more.

Davies is finished. I have officially written him off as wasted talent.

May he prove me wrong.

that ONE game that he helped win for us Fev kicked 6 in anyway!

like the swans we should have a "no flower policy" for any future draftees.
Fev has sorted himself out, davies has teased but never really delivered.

I've been a bit of a fan of Juzzy's over the past few years.... mainly due to some of the "freaky" stuff that budzy mentioned.... the tight goals on the run off the left foot... handballing the ball to himself as he was about to get tackled and kicking that inspirational goal at Princes Park.... the "Collingwood is my biatch!!" games (that alone just about makes him a champ in my book  )..... BUT there's just not enough consistency from him.... he kinda just drifts in and out of games (DP's coaching style gives young players only limited ground time to stamp their authority or influence on the game- if they don't do enough with that limited opportunity, it's straight to the bench or VFL they go)

In hindsight it's looking like he wouldnt have played many games if we had a stronger list..... with the emergence of our new smalls/mediums: Betts, Simpson, Bentick, Murphy, Carrots, Walker et al (players who have more pace and/or better foot skills) he's been pushed back in the queue even further... not looking good for Juzzy come season's end.

When you're a young player who cannot command a spot in a team that has been a cellar dwellar for 4 years...

you're struggling.

His flower act in the VFL finals last season didn't help his cause any...

Look, I think he's GAWN.

His disposal is poor - his kicking lacks penetration. He lacks intensity and whilst he doesn't mind putting his head over the ball, it's not enough to just do that and keep your spot in the team and expect the team to get better. You have to be able to hit targets. Having said that, he's not alone in this regard.

I would have liked JD to have earned a spot in the side as I think if he played to his potential then from the glimpses he has given us he would be a fantastic forward option. But the problem is not only is he inconsistent from week to week, he is even more inconsistent within a game. He just tends to let the game happen around him and at his stage of development he should be trying to take hold of a game.

As others have said he is towards the back of a queue that is getting longer.

Not wrong SB!!

Can't really blame supporters for their disappointment and frustration at JD. Just hope he can turn it around this year because there's no doubt there'll be no next year if he doesn't. :)
