Hmm, where does Jake Niall get all his ideas from … well, some of them anyway. Can't see too many people wanting DeLutis back.

Is there any way Clarke can get onto the board before next year's AGM?

would be a shame to see matheson go he looks like he is a valuable addition to the board, i think some new blood is definatly needed, what about that millionaire developer that was going to build the tallest building in melbourne, Grollo was that his name? wasnt he interested a few years ago or is that my memory playing tricks

/mathieson will go out with a BANG.
He is a servant oif the club that does put his money where his mouth is... he is a doer and not a talker like some...

he told collo. "stay and ill get you the numbers" says it all doesnt it?about the man and about those that think theyre powerful .

Huge loss to the club but will make sure there is fresh blood..

Jake Niall whilst being a Collingwood supporter loves our game and he loves our club.
MAke no mistake about his thoughts on us.
He is no Mike Sheahan. He understands the complexities and he understands the characters. and personalities and egos around our club.

Brilliant piece about healing the rifts that are dividing this club .

I actually agree with alot of what he said and have been calling for much of the same .

One name on that list that I would love to see more off at Carlton: Fraser Brown.

Yeah, thats the only thing holding him back. That his presence might rock the boat a bit in regards to our relationship with the AFL.

Definately worthwhile AD though.

I wouldn't mind colin Delutis on the board. He was dumb at the AGM in 2002 but I reckon he was set up by Elliot. He's a successful self made man and he's young. Better then Loraine Diggins anyway.

Good article from Niall.

Particularly enjoyed his message to the club: make the club's leaders readily available to the media, or the media will call on Elliot to represent Carlton every time.

Smorgon not being available for interviews the MORNING AFTER ousting Ian Collins as President was stupendously dumb.

Yep - probably the fairest, most balanced article on the off-field stuff since the early days of this century (pre 2002).

Smorgon has much on his plate. Hope he's got an appetite. :?

I reckon synbad wrote that piece for him

It is time though to bring blokes like Lofts and Hall back and say lets all just get on with being Carlton. Like the sound of fresh blood and hey what about that warning to Smorgon - you sure you didn't write this Synners?

Or are the sourses just the same? 8)

Don't agree with Wes coming back onto the board but having some sort of input's fine (unlikely to be willing though I think).

Anyone directly involved with the salary cap breaches should be given a wide berth and Wes is up the top of that list. I also don't want people associated with corner cutting. We're in the middle of a major on-field re-build. No need to screw that up because of some perception that you need to look like you're doing something.

I'm actually 90% happy with where the onfield stuff is heading providing it keeps heading in the same direction. Three kids at the end of this year of the quality of Murphy, Kennedy, Betts, Simpson, Fisher, Waite, Bentick, etc and another three the following year and in 18 months we have a list worth looking at.

The off-field stuff quite clearly needs a boost.

That's your job now Smorgo - off you go...

Excellent article - lets see if Smorgon has the balls to welcome back the 'old' crew back to the club in a guest capacity, ie Lofts, Hall, Armstrong, etc.

We need unity, leadership, and direction.

Smorgon - the ball is in your court :!:
