http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=259757 Not too much new in there. Will be interesting to see who they blood as the new board member. You'd reckon that the honourable thing to do would be to speak to Marcus Clarke, however in a brief snippet I heard on 3LO's pre-match it seems they are very keen to get an ex-player to the table. Having said that, with membership falling and while trotting out the youth policy it's a bit piss weak to rely solely on winning games of football to sell memberships. Quote: "No club can survive without vitality and expanding membership. Last year we had 33,000 members which is a record. We are currently at 25,000 and with a few wins I would expect it to jump to 27-28,000 ... we're just not going to meet budget."

Robert Walls might make an interesting addition. Was mentioned on the radio and he didn't deny or confirm it K |

It piss weak to not renew your membership since we were headed for the bottom 4 last year and still broke our record. The value of a membership may need to be improved but it's a cop out to not reach into your pocket again for your club. We're slowly turning it around with competitive performances as we gradually add more talent to the side. So why aren't they signing up again? ![]() Does anyone know what the figures were at this time last year? Walls said he didn't want to go on any board. |

So why aren't they signing up again? ![]() Does anyone know what the figures were at this time last year? Walls said he didn't want to go on any board. I renewed my membership before Christmas. And while I would be grateful that all Blues members / fans have a current membership, I think we need too be careful giving people a blast. Some genuinely can't afford it. You think, petrol goes up rediculously everyweek, cost of food goes up every week, and family structures change. I know for one as much as I love the club, and pay my membership dues whether I go or not, as the years unfold and when I start a family, if the numbers don't add up then it has too be dropped. Maybe we need too be coming in at the base and encouraging many too at least by a basic membership ($60 i think) which doesn't give entry but the magazine. At least the club has a current point of contact and active commnication channel with them. |
