The game has passed you by Denis. I have always been a fan of yours and stayed patient during your time at Carlton, BUT, it is time to move on. Ratts, Sticks, SOS... Someone young, fresh and CARLTON to take the head job as coach...SOON! And no more PISS AND WIND to us all please Denis...We have copped enough...Tell things as they are. |

its true. irrespective of whether or not he's a good coach of good players, or can or can't develop young players, or can or can't change his gameplan or his relationship with the players, Pagan can't get anything to work at this football club. he has to go seasons end. he's wasting his time and carltons. |

Yes you can... a smart president will not wait for Denis to come to us to make it a cheaper settlement. He would go to Denis if this continues and ask him "How would you like to settle this.. its not working.. you know the financial strife the club is in. We want to make sure you get your money but we need terms. We would like to sette tyour renumeration over five years and we would hope that you understand that we need your help. Now please resign as after three and a half years this isnt happening and im sure you would have to agree. Its not your fault.. its just the logical and fair thing to do." Now get back to us by Friday with how you want this to be organised and knocked on the head for you." thats it! Its not super hard .. im sure Denis knows its not working out... |

he has to go seasons end. he's wasting his time and carltons. Nah has to give a new coach 10 weeks to look at who to keep and who to delist/ trade. It wouldnt be fair to expect a new coach to do that in our position. We have to pay Denis 2 1/2 years over 5 if possible. |

despite the $$ aspect, we somehow afforded to get Pagan across when the club was virtually at it's poorest. If we really wanted it, if we really needed it (and I reckon we do) it could happen. I wish we'd gone for Eade when he was available! Rich |

And who would you replace him with? WB? Ayres? Yes in a time where the club is in deep pooh we should do the full Richmond thing and start the Coach merry go round. Worked wonders for them.... |

The club is looking at SOS... in my opinion he would be a huge mistake. Mitchell is the man.. and id bring Voss in as an assistant...along with a couple of other thinkers and skills people. |

If we really wanted it, if we really needed it (and I reckon we do) it could happen. I wish we'd gone for Eade when he was available! Rich Eade was hammered by Swans people as much as Pagan when things did not work well...... Coaches are always "great" when they have a winning team and "shit" when they have a loosing one. When it comes down to it - it's the right cattle you need. What about the Lions? They are shit now -that Leigh guy must be a crap coach.. |

It is too early in our development phase to change coaches. It would be a waste (in more ways than one) at this stage. I don't see Pagan killing the kids too much ATM, the time for a new coach is in a year or 2 to give the list the oomph. Has to be recently out of the game though. |

Brett Ratten - cheap and supposedly excellent - David Parkin told me he would be an "outstanding coach" - Respected by all, excellent communicator, tactically excellent . Wayne Brittain as assistant, and John Blakey as an assistant. (All would be cheap. Give Ratts a 2 year deal withan optionon the third year. We are on our knees financially if we dont start winning games we will lose more members and I believe we will be relocating or at least playing half our games interstate in 5 years time. In oredr to avoid this we must start turning the ship around and that means starting with a clean out in the coaches box. It may cost us a million dollars to get rid of DP now BUT it will save us twice that amount in the long run. |

Three and a bit years is enough to get a system happening. We still have no system. While we have no system to play with the kids cant be sidetracked cos noone knows what the hell theyre doing out there. the amount of times they cose wrong options or couldnt decide between long and short and went neither was ridiculous 3 and a bit years in... its time to go... we just have to wait for the wheels to fall off.. and in my opinion its about to happen again. You cant go through more of this ...its nonsense. |

Three incidents sum up the fact Pagan has lost any gift he had at coaching. 1. On TripleM before the game he was asked by Mr Newman about Adrian Deluca. Pagan basically told everyone listening Deluca is something along the lines of a mobile, athletic midfielder. 2. Moving Lance Whitnall onto Richo and having his ass kicked for the second week in a row. It was so bloody obvious the fast flowing game we played in the first quarter lost all potency when Lance was moved. When the game was there to be won, where was Lance? 3. The stupid Par 3 game plan he has implemented going against the grain of the coaching philosophy Pagan has had for 20 years. If we left Lance up forward and continued to play long and direct we would of won tonight. Instead the amount of turnovers by players playing to instruction was ridiculous. |

I think Denis is the reason why we have such slow starts, his defensive game plan sets a negative attitude before the ball has been bounced. I for one have been a huge Denis supporter i have to admit i was absolutely disgusted in his coaching performance tonight and his decision the past few weeks have been somewhat mind boggling, one being playing Setanta O'hAilpin when he just aint up to it the second not playing Livo when he could have done a job on Stafford and Symonds and tonight was his worst coaching performance i have seen. How can you move Lance down back and have Saddo and T-bird on the bench I think Denis is a bitter old man, its his way or the highway and its so obvious to see some players are not happy and i dont blae them |

This statement alone sums up how DP is seriously losing the plot. What is he on about??? |

Cost us not much more to pay a coach like Barry Mitchell, who I have a lot of time for, as he is already an assistant, thus on the payroll. We can't have 3 more years of this sh1t. Be amazing how players suddenly run a bit harder, and somehow, amazingly, kicks suddenly hit their target when players play for a coach they respect. History's shown that many times. Time to get rid of Pagan.

If I was to say this is allegedly the "worst.thread.ever"....is that nit picking? PM me for clarification (or victimisation) please, before I post in any other threads tonight. I (seriously) need some guidelines for posting. |

No. Worst. Thread. Ever. is a blanket statement, nitpicking would be far more subtle. But you already knew that. ![]() |
