Man I love this kid; open, honest and down-to-earth.

The way he writes also feels like you're going on this journey with him.

Giving this kid a regular column could be the best thing for that Carlton has done for some time as any kids aspiring to play afl should be inspired.

Like his sense of humour too.

Just read the article. It would be great to translate what he said, but it would be too close to plagiarism. What he says is.

He is admirable and believable, and he doesn't have a Carlton history. He's a cleanskin. After all he has only just arrived. That's not right. Carlton is his home.

He was born in our '87 premiership year. By the time he was 6 he experienced the GF team of legends in '93, (and Kernahan was still unstoppable, and continued to be for more years to come). When he was 12 he witnessed the path to destiny with the '95 premiers; Carlton. Carlton became known as "The Unbeatables"; 'team of the century'. Four years later, and he's 16, he experiences the greatest Prelim F in the modern age, and Carlton's "never say die' team are in the GF again.

By 16 he knew Carlton was the team that was consistently dominant in the VFL/AFL for the last 30 years, leading the pack with 16 FLAGS over 100 years. When he was 17 he chose Carlton. I'm glad he did.

Basically what he says in his diary IMO is that We [Carlton] are close to winning, and at our consistent best We can win against all comers.

No doubt he's home, and we've got a good one in him. There's no more Fitzroy, but evolution is nurturing the Murphy dynasty to greener pastures; Carlton.

And he's only just started.

but I've been told to back myself a little bit more just like I did in the under-18s and take 'em on.

Kudos to the coaching staff for passing on these instructions to MM.

Jars - can't really tell a kid who has an all-round game to do anything else can you? You'd have to be mentally incompetent like Pagan to... oh wait. 8)

Someone should tell Ian Coutts that no 18 year old uses the expression "pulled the wrong rein".

Gees even our ghost writing sucks.

This is a sportal article - not a CLub generated one. Coutts wouldn't have had anything to do with it (if indeed there's a ghost writer on this, which you would suspect).

Interesting how open today's paper is on Aka's ghost writer getting him into trouble!

It seems like Murph really looks up to Fev!

Seems Fev has taken the next level in helping other eg Carrazzo kicking for goal

A few of the boys have been giving me some stick, saying the club pulled the wrong rein picking me - that they should have taken Dale at number one. They've been getting into me, but it’s funny really.
