Essendon* coach Kevin Sheedy believes Scott Camporeale's decision to play against Richmond on Saturday night in the 'Dreamtime at the G' clash at the MCG was "poor" as he sustained another hamstring injury.

Sheedy implied post-match that Camporeale needed to put the team first when weighing up whether he was ready to comeback from an injury - on this occasion just two matches since he initially hurt his leg. Camporeale was unable to complete the match.

"He's just had the diagnosis that he's hurt his hamstring and they're worried about it," Sheedy said.

"There's no good going on him and it was a poor decision for him to play and he's got to learn by that, because that left us with one player less and it might be an opportunity for Ricky Dyson or another kid to play, so that was very disappointing from that point-of-view."

Even though I enjoy seeing Essendon* lose with Campo in their team, I think that's harsh and a cop-out by Sheedy.

It's Sheedy's job to ensure his squad is right for selection. He has medicos and trainers to put his guys under stress to ensure they are match fit.

I actually feel sorry that Campo has to receive an outburst like that - he's well and truly been given the blame for Essendon*'s loss.
