Tuned in SEN and Daniel Harford was on with Liam Pickering and they were taking calls...a Blues supporter rang and asked Harford his opinion along with Pickering on a few players as well as some general comments.

He said Pagan over did the retreds including himself..said he had a good time but it was never a way to rebuild the a team and the club went that way to satisfy supporters/members and it will take 5 years to rebuild with kids and play in finals...bot of them dont see Pagan being there to see the results..I was surprised at Harfords frankness.....both praised Jess Smith and believe Prenda can still make it as a senior player...

i too heard harfs on the radio on route to the game today. loved his frankness and couldnt agree anymore with everything he had to say. 10 wins in 2004 was fantastic, but it concealed many problems. it isnt just that batch tho, o'reily and mansfield, mcguane (good on hoggy for fighting him in the gym!) etc were absolute jokes. our inability in put faith in kids is killing us. dont wrap them in cotton wool, lets see what they can do. JR had 26 possies yesterday, surely shows he can get it.

i agree with his comments about davies, sporn, wiggy (who battled manfully today) and prender (as daniel said they have to find a spot for him, if they can he still could be of value) if they dont play regular football for the next 10-12 weeks theyre gone. what do u lose by rolling the dice on some kids? plenty of good players have been picked up late in the draft. plenty of duds have been picked early, we know that all too well.

Daniel Harford is a fantastic guy to have around the club, and i hope he has a strong career in the media because he is a truly genuine and honest bloke.

heard the segment as well.

with harford in the 2's he will do more for the kids than what any of our assistants (apart from barry mitchell) would do.
