Anyone who has bigpond can listen to it on afl.com (I don't). I heard a bit of it. Said he was disappointed we let all our hard work slip away in the second half. We need to go back to doing the basics well. |

"we butchered the ball" - thanks DP - what an insight!!!! I wonder who is responsible for that???? DP will get TE to yell at the players during training just like he has done for his whole coaching career - that will solve everything!! |

Denis mentioned: -COuldn't put his finger on why the contrasting halves. -Players will take ownership in post mortem and next weeks preparation. -Could feel in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd Qtr in the box that the game was slipping -Mentioned all the hard work done in preseason, and last year came undone today -Players will be trained on the poorer elements of today's game -Felt the scarring of the last few years losses by players as non-contributing factors in the loss (he was asked a question in relation to this) Didn't really have anything positive to say, really |

Didn't really have anything positive to say, really Wangers isn't it an amazing concept - "players will be trained on the poorer elements of today's game" wow after only 25 years of coaching DP is discovering that you need to actually include skills in your training - rather than run like buggery while your appendix TE yells at the players!!! |

I dearly hope our supposed leaders in the playing group are showing more assertiveness off-field than they have on it of late. Oh for a leader who commands respect... |

Let's see you stroll into a press conference and clinically identify how Collingwood exposed us for all to see... what exactly do you want the bloke to do? The man is asking for players to take more responsiblity for what they do on the field. I don't see a thing wrong with that. |

time for pagan to come under the media microscope ... not the club (we know they enjoy that) ... not the players (their turn will come if they continue being so insipid ... ) but PAGAN just some points they can kick off with: negative/reactive game plan & match-ups. wasting picks on non-contributors such as chambers and longmuir (unless it was to get bullants into finals ... ). lack of a development plan, or if there is one it certainly has eluded the club's supporters. having the most poorly drilled team in the comp with seemingly no set plays or effective stoppage set-ups (total deriliction of duty and goes beyond "not having the cattle"). when the side finally made it into 2006 and managed to get the ball to the members wing from a kickout before collingwood could even begin to set up a zone, it seemed our guys were just as shocked cos ball carrier had no-one to kick to ... |

I think it's more the latter. Denis actually has a good record of developing younger players into great players. |

i find it hard to reconcile development working within such an environment of negativity and reactivity. he talks a lot about being positive during the week, then come match day he becomes negative and reactive. he remains possibly the only coach left using the bench as a "sin bin". |

Fair point. I couldn't believe we started the match negative. The only thing I can think is that he's using method of instilling discipline into the players which they haven't caught onto yet. I'm hoping that when they do, we'll take off in a big way. Just doesn't look like it will happen this year..... |

When you accept the fact that he is still teaching a vast majority of our players, you will understand his methods a bit more. When we come to the fore I am sure he will use the bench a fair bit more, but that may not be this year. |

For all the talk about us being negative, I noticed that Collingwood were flooding just as hard in the first 1/2. The only real difference is that we do a full team flood while they were leaving one or two of their forwards inside 50. After 1/2 time they stopped because we were kicking the ball to them and they didn't need to flood any more. |
