Goal umpire: That's a point.

Field umpire: Are you sure? I know we're supposed to give Carlton the reaming of a lifetime week in, week out, but surely this is just too obvious...?

Goal umpire: F*ck 'em, it's only Carlton. If you blokes can pay that shepherding bullshit against Whitnall all the time, then we'll easily get away with this.

Field umpire: True. Point it is!

It's pretty damn obvious when the field umpire runs right up to him and asks "Are you sure" that there's a large likelihood that the goal umpire has f**ked up his call.

No doubt it was a goal.

The field umpire asking the goal umpire if he's sure is irrelevant because the field umpire doesn't decide on goals. That's the goal umpire's job, and if he or she gets it wrong that's life. The goal umpire has the final say.

I was sitting directly infront of the goal umpire when it happend right on the fence. The umpire tripped and was looking towards the ground when it went through for a goal :evil:

I blame the umpires on our loss :lol:

Which does nothing to discount my contention that if the field umpire make a point to ask if he's completely sure he's probably made a blue.

wasnt it a point because the ball had supposedly crossed the line in the contest that took place next to the point post following fevs kick? that was my reading as the kick itself was a goal.

No, on the TV broadcast they followed it up during the break and the goal umpire confirmed it was given as a point to Fisher.
